Reviews on Italian food in Dongguan, Guangdong, China. Dongguan is a prefecture-level city in central Guangdong Province of South China. An important industrial city in the Pearl River Delta, Dongguan borders the provincial capital of Guangzhou to the north, Huizhou to the northeast, Shenzhen to the south, and the Pearl River to the west. It is part of the Pearl River Delta megacity with more than 44.78 million inhabitants at the 2010 census spread over nine municipalities (including Macao) across an area of 17,573 square kilometres (6,785 sq mi). Dongguan's city administration is considered especially progressive in seeking foreign direct investment. Dongguan ranks behind only Shenzhen, Shanghai and Suzhou in exports among Chinese cities, with $65.54 billion in shipments. It is also home to one of the world's largest, though largely empty, shopping malls, the New South China Mall. Although the city is geographically and thus culturally Cantonese in the Weitou form and as well as culturally Hakka in the prefectures of Fenggang and Qingxi, the majority of the modern-day population speaks Mandarin due to the large influx of economic migrants from other parts of China.

I have been coming 4 times a year to DG since 1993.My sister and family has a famous cheesery in Tuscany (Corzano e Paterno) that has been featured on Bourdain/Oliver/Nigella etc.My business partner and I just came back from a lovely dinner in the newly developed food district by the Dyna City mall. Superior service from Elena and Amanda. Enzo prepared a lovely lamb chop for us and picked out a special Piedmonte red for our dinner.Hoping that Enzo and Stephanie can come visit our farm in Tuscany soon. We need help on milking those 700 sheep! Will come back next time in DG

Located inside the Long Island Golf and Country Club.
Location - SUPER close to the Park Lane Hotel.Staff - all very kind and reserved. Leave you time to enjoy your meal but make sure that you receive good service.Food - I have been many times and enjoyed every meal. Pasta, fish and appetizers have been delicious every time.Decor - extremely well decorated and very relaxing for dinner after a long day of working.Prices - this restaurant is a treat if you are traveling for business on a travel budget. More like Hong Kong prices but well worth it after weeks of travel through Asia.I will always return to Grappa's on my travel to Chang'An!

A fantastic restaurant with fabulous atmosphere, great food and professional staff. The surroundings are excellent, I as staying at the Wanda Vista Dongguan and it's a 5min car ride. The Wacom is warm, the food terrific, waiting staff well trained and attentive so will continue to frequent this restaurant every time I'm in China on business. It's the type of establishment you can conduct a decent friendly business meeting, take the family or enjoy a romantic Italian evening with your loved one!! Great selection of Gin......and a great bar tender too. Love the Italian owners who wait the tables and add even more authenticity to the atmosphere.....well done, never tire of a night out here. Thanks

If you're in China and craving thin crust pizza, Luigi's would be the place to go to. I've been eating at Luigi's for 9 years, all during business trips and staying at the Sheraton Dongguan (restaurant is located in the hotel). Have to say quality used to be better, but still very decent.

Established in august 2006 in Guangzhou, Buongiorno Italian Restaurants prides itself as an authentic Italian Food experience: Italian owned, managed and prepared, confirming the theory that genuine Italian cuisine can't be made without genuine Italian ha
We were in China on business for 10 days, we used a service company that only wanted to take us to expat bars and dives, so bailed and made our own plans for dinner. Chose this place simply because it was near the top on TA (and we like Italian). As with the "Millionaire" TV prog, asking the audience paid off. Seated at a nice table outside (try to ignore the traffic behind the plants and dont think about the pollution - this is China). Wine was nice (let's get the priorities right). Finding good wine is an issue in China, but what is here is decent. Food was pretty decent too, nothing awfully memorable (if you want memorable try Tairyo Teppanyaki [é¿éåè·¯æç 广åº223å·] ) but on that night, in China, it was an oasis of European normality. The price was large. But hey, this is an Italian in China, you know it's expensive before you go, right? So it is what it is. For some reason, all our translators for days after kept saying "Oh, I thought that place closed" - if you are local you might know why; but it is open. Food is good, wine is good, service is good, and this in Dongguan so it is an oasis of stuff you know and like in a desert of chickens feet and stuff you might not choose to eat. Westerner in Dongguan and like food you recognise? This is the place.

First western owned/managed individual restaurant in Dongguan City. Favorite expat and Chinese upper class location for meals, birthday parties, meetings or celebrations. Full Italian A La Carte with a very good selection of wines, most of them Italian. P
The place to go for lunch and dinner if you want unfussy and delicious food for reasonable prices. Service is always friendly and professional. Cannot recommend enough!
