Discover Restaurants offering the best Italian food in Djerba Island, Medenine Governorate, Tunisia. A large island, approximately 20 by 20 kilometers, Djerba lies just off the northeastern coast of Africa, in southeastern Tunisia, near the Libyan border. Set on the Gulf of Gabes, the island is known for an eclectic population of residents and tourists, splendid beaches and picturesque villages that feature distinctive, square, whitewashed houses. Houmt Souq is the one large town, with bustling markets and lively outdoor cafes. Djerba, which offers a pirate's castle and fortress-like mosques, is believed to have been the inspiration for Homer's Odyssey. Accessible from the south of Tunisia, a road originally built by the Romans connects the island to the mainland.
Things to do in Djerba Island
This restaurant is lovely. The exterior and interior are at a very high standard. Everything is very clean and well presented. There is a good choice of food and the staff are friendly.Although one of the more expensive restaurants in the area is it still a fraction of the price you would pay in the UK. It does not have a beach location (seems like the hotels on Djerba have that monopoly) the pleasant garden really makes up for that.Highly reccomended

Went there for a quick dinner as per my taxi driver advice. Very nice dinning room; friendly staff; Clean place. The food taste was OK. The menu includes mainly pasta and pizzas. The only disadvantages I could tell are the lack of English speaking people, everything is French over there and the price of food is slightly over rated. ;)

A small, tranquil restaurant where one finds also works of art by Tunisian artists as well as a lounge area for having tea/coffee and snacks whilst socialising with persons of similar interests - good food and peaceful ambiance. The owner is extremely friendly, a typical Tunisian, and goes round every table even asking to sit down and chat and give advice on Djerba! A true example of socialising. The food is prepared to the best and excellence of tastes and varies from Tunisian and European, with a typical Meidterranean touch. One can see the young chef busying about alone in the kitchen and the waiter helping him in the kitchen and serving outside together with the owner. It is an outstanding feat and much praise goes to the three of them. The decorations are white and fresh, with soft lights and a relaxing courtyard; while the lcation is near the Mosque of the Turks, lovely lit up at night, and just about 300 metres from the centre of the Medina. Prices are within average and huge value for money. I highly recommend this unique restaurant with Parisian touches. Open for lunch, dinner and afternoon tea!
