Reviews on Italian food in Dinkelsbuhl, Bavaria, Germany. Like Rothenburg, Dinkelsbuehl is one of the smaller medieval fortress cities. With its walls and towers still intact, it has the look of a typical German town of the 15th to early 17th century. Sample the famous German cuisine served in larger cities, but without the crowds. Don't miss the annual summer celebration, marking the city's surrender to Swedish troops during the Thirty Years' War. The event is emphatically reenacted by many of the town's residents. And really, who doesn't love amateur theater?

Soooo very delicious!Moderately priced, excellent food and phenomenal service! We didn't make a reservation, but they accommodated us even though they were busy. Bruschetta was soooo good I could have licked the plate. My husband had salmon with rice and potatoes and he loved it. I ordered gnocchi with plain tomato sauce which wasn't on the menu, but they had no issue accommodating my request. Delicious bread and the check was accompanied by a complimentary aperitif (grappa, amaretto and I think one other). The prices were reasonable for the quality of the food and service. A+Bathroom was clean

Outstanding food and service. The restaurant has English menus and the waitresses all speak English. I ordered the Aurora Pizza (salami, ham & mushrooms) and it was outstanding. My husband ordered the Spaghetti with garlic, oil & tomatoes, and it was also outstanding. As if we were not full enough, we then ordered the apple strudel -- one with ice cream and one with vanilla sauce. Both were delicious. The restaurant is very popular and can fill up quickly.

This restaurant offers a nice outside terrace in pittoresk Dinkelsbuhl. We were pleasantly surprised with the extensive choice of Italian dishes, all reasonably priced. We chose a caprese salad and vegetarian canelloni. We liked the fresh ingedrients. The canelloni were served at the right temperature in a nice sauce. The service was pleasant and efficient.
As residents of Dinkelsbühl, Pizzeria Piccola is charming in appearance both inside and outside located on a quiet side street off of Martin Luther Strasse. The one time my family and I ate there, the food was very good.Unfortunately, the man who owns/manages the restaurant is incredibly rude and disrespectful. On our recent second visit, he did not greet us outside while he enjoyed his cigarette. We were the only guests there waiting for a table. He rudely requested we give him our drink order, and we told him we would consider ordering a bruschetta AFTER we received our drinks. Another waiter delivered our drinks and did not ask us for our order. We had decided not to order dinner there because of the strange and rude behaviour. All of a sudden, the waiter delivered a side salad and bruschetta. We politely told him that was not our order. When he returned to the kitchen, the owner/manager yelled so loudly it could be heard on the front eating patio. He marched out the door to our table and insisted we ordered the bruschetta. We politely said we did not order it, so he marched back inside. By this point, I couldn't resist confronting him inside where his staff was visibly embarrassed by his actions. I informed him that we were not visitors of Dinkelsbühl and that we are residents and could not understand why he would treat us so rudely. He kept on insisting we ordered the bruschetta. We quickly paid the bill and left to NEVER RETURN AGAIN!

The food and service at Zum Koppen is absolutely wonderful, and the wine choices are excellent! Many of the wine selections are from the owner's own vineyard in Sicily. We tried two different types of his pizza, and they both were delicious! The portions are generous and the prices are good. The dining area itself has a classy, romantic feel -- perfect for us since we were on our honeymoon!
