Things to do in Deruta
I found this place by chance and I am so happy and lucky that I did!Excellent fresh Sea Bass cooked to perfection, came with an amazing version of scalloped potatoes. Friendliest owners are the chef and his wife. Beautiful. Clean. Great service. Just the best. . Easy to find. Right off the highway in Deruta

Beautiful restaurant in small hamlet serving unfussy Umbrian food. Service is great and we sat out on terrace with stunning views of the countryside whilst we ate supper. Everything is cooked to order so doesn't arrive quickly, but this gives you more time to drink in the view and the excellent wine on offer - the house wines come by the jug are very good value for the price.

Saturday night and the place was full of local Italians . A very good atmosphere with attentive service and an expert head waiter who speaks good English .Special note of the quality and taste of the grilled meats and sausages . The assortment of deserts was incredible . The local wine is highly recommended.

We asked for a good typical local place in Deruta [ceramic production center of Italy] and got this recommendation. It was excellent. Described as a truck stop and we know how truckers pick the best food. Very Italian, we heard no English although the wai
If you are shopping like mad for ceramics in Deruta and the clock strikes 1:00pm all the stores close. Time for lunch. We asked our shopkeeper where we should eat, and he quickly recommended Asso id Coppe...âAll the truck drivers eat there. You canât go wrong.â So midway between Sud and Nord exits for Deruta on the E45 is a gas station [access from the northbound lanes] and behind it sits and unassuming hotel and restaurant. It was Sunday afternoon and the place was packed with groups, but they found us a table for two. The crowd was authentic...Italian families out for Sunday lunch. The food flowed from the kitchen in quantifies we could not believe. We ordered roast chicken and received a whole chicken that was delicious. Add a salad and side order of spinach, a liter of mineral water the total came to 24 euros. And we took home enough chicken and spinach for another meal.

We first found Deruta in 1963 on our way to Rome and have retuned several times to purchase more ceramics. At our last visit we retuned to our favourite restaurant,Ristorante Il Bracconiere.Situated close to the car park and the roadway up the hill,it is a great place to enjoy lunch before or after visiting the ceramic shops. It is always busy with locals and visitors as the food is authentic and always enjoyable.I remember great soups, pasta dishes and risottos. The local wines are most enjoyable served in carafes and by the bottle.I have a ceramic carafe purchased some years ago.If in Umbria, Deruta is a pleasant way to spend a day to purchase the ceramics and to enjoy the great service and food at Ristorante Il Bracconiere.

We were shopping in Deruta and the owner of the shop accompanied us here to make sure that we had "un buon pranzo" in Deruta. From the moment we walked in we were well taken care of by Tito and Carla (the chef) The food was delicious, from the farro salad to the pasta, and meat courses, with a finish of vin santo and biscotti. The restaurant is in a beautiful area on the grounds of a country house. We were seated in the dining room, but there is outdoor seating when the weather permits (it was quite windy that day) Leave yourselves in the hands of the wonderful staff, and you will have a lovely day.

We stopped in Deruta on our way from the Marche down to Rome. Having parked we found the little town almost deserted -typical for lunchtime! After a quick walk round we came across this little Taverna, which was quite busy but had space for us. The staff, especially the owner, were very friendly and the little vaulted dining room very attractive. My wife ordered taglliatelle al ragu which was very good. I had penne with a truffle and sausage cream sauce which was extremely tasty. When I ordered the owner said this would take a little time and suggested we share bruschetta while we waited - this actually took a while to arrive but was good, although would have been a lot for one person.House wine was excellent and prices reasonable for a tourist town, although there seemed to be a good number of locals there as well.A good find and we will call in again next time we are in the area.

In virtù delle ridotte dimensioni del locale, NON si accettano animali, neanche di piccola taglia.
Got here following TA reviews, and it was worth the while. Small place (counted some 20 places in all), very homey and with great food! The tomino as a starter was surprising, the tagliatelle al tartufo was delicious, the dessert as good as well.Service was first class.Prices - more than reasonable.Very much reccommended!

CLOSED ON MONDAY In their warm manner the Rodella family welcomes guests into this ancient building where huge beams, brick arches and wonderful views all lend a special atmosphere. Garden with its flowers and scents and the picturesque swimming pool over
After a several hour shopping trek in Deruta, my husband and I asked a local shopkeeper for a lunch recommendation. He responded by asking us, "Do you have time or do you have to rush off?" We said we had time. He suggested L'Antico Forziere, just a couple of km from where we were, and that if we went there, we would want to return again and again. Wow, what a great two hours we spent at this lovely ristorante. A picturesque and historic setting, a 400 year old building, where the lower level is where you can enjoy a truly delicious dining experience in a comfortable and relaxing environment. So pretty when we walked in. Nice regional wine list, interesting menu with lovely combinations, it was difficult to choose. The scallops for antipasti were cooked perfectly, crisp outer side yet they achieved that melt-in-your-mouth with a mousse that was divine. I chose the tuna and my husband the pork. The pork was uniquely plated and paired with greens and a pineappley addition which created the perfect combo of crunch and flavor. The tuna was seared beautifully alongside a geometric grouping of green beans and veges. The cinnamon creme brûlée with wine-drenched pear brought all these flavors together in a wonderful way, the presentation almost too beautiful to eat alongside the expertly created spun sugar decorations. We devoured it.Our waiter was so friendly, and let us enjoy our wonderful lunch here undisturbed. Thank you to this wonderful family owned restaurant. We will be back....again and again.Thank you again for the lunch in our restaurant and thank you very much for your wonderful review. We appreciated very much your beautiful words about our restaurant and we hope every time in Umbria you will always remember and reccomend L'Antico Forziere for a short break for lunch or dinner.Best regards,Samuele
