The food is very good, but the service was a little slow.We were able to use the Tastecard on a Friday which was good. The choice on the menu is fine and should suit most tastes.Good value for money particularly with the Tastecard. It gets busy which must be a good sign.Staff were friendly and cheerful even though it was a busy night.

So, we booked a table for 33. Not your average booking I would suggest, and fortunately for everyone, we all arrived at different times so drinks orders were not so much of an issue. Zizzi's is a modern restaurant offering, simple food, easily prepared and fresh but even so, 33 would be a daunting task for anyone. Drinks were sorted but we were being served by a solo waiter - as he started to take the food order, it was clear that this was never going to work. We consulted with the manager who started to bemoan the fact that we'd only booked for 25 (as if that justified a solo waiter) but I just pointed out that it simply wasn't going to work and they needed to up their game. She relented and started taking orders at the other end so that they could meet in the middle and some semblance of consistency might befall our table. The kitchen (on full view) started producing food and a steady flow of orders started to appear, not helped by some of our party ordering side dishes and forgetting what they'd asked for. The staff were now into the swing of the whole affair and finally pulled the proverbial rabbit out of their corporate hat and we had a decent evening.33 people at a single table was never going to be easy (one wonders why they accepted the booking!!) and their initial assessment was woefully inadequate. That said, they did indeed up their game and saved the day (night).Well done Rachael and Alex...you made the difference

We were 4 adults and 2 small children. Staff were friendly, and gave the children some activity sheets. We shared 2 large pizzas - Marguerita, and Pulled Pork. Both were very tasty. An enjoyable experience.

I live near the Italian border and I love Italian food.I took my father along for an "authentic Mediterranean" meal and left feeling embarrassed: this is nothing like an Italian restaurant we find in Italy or in France.I have never been in an Italian restaurant before that did not offer grissini: not only did they not offer them; they didn't even have them! Instead we were offered (no not offered, it went on the bill) some bread and olive oil "dip": the olive oil was tasteless, I will say no more. The "house red" was okay, but expensive by the glass. One of my favourite dishes is spaghetti alla carbonara: but sadly instead of a light delicious carbonara, I was served a thick creamy sauce that I actually had difficulty getting through (there is no cream in traditional spaghetti alla carbonara in Italy). I mentioned it to the waiter who seemed to think that this anglo version made with cream was acceptable; I chose not to argue as I did not wish to upset my father, who found his rather expensive vitello milanese okay, but nothing special (the pasta pomodoro didn't look as if it had been made with fresh ingredients). Finally the expresso was an expresso, but not an Italian expresso that we all love in Italy: it had no intensity.... The up side was that the service was friendly, and that does count for something.

A great venue for our anniversary meal!Authentic atmosphere, Italian music, food, waiters... spot on. The waiter was helpful with our choices, efficient in service and smiled! The food was freshly prepared, generous portions and very tasty & reasonably priced. A definite return is planned...

A special celebration yesterday and we were looked after so well by Angelo, Ben and Katrina (plus the all important hidden talented team in the kitchen). An excellent evening with delicious food and wine. The quality and presentation of the dishes are what keep bringing us back. The menu has changed recently with some tweaks to the "classics" and as always there is a specials board. The ravioli fritti are superb with a little kick from the n'duja; it's an unusual addition but boy are they good! The fish dishes were succulent, full of flavour. Portion size is always good. Excellent wine list but do ask Angelo for advice/suggestions. We have never been disappointed.

We visited this restaurant last Saturday night after a recommendation and it was certainly delicious. We all chose something different and were all very pleased with the food. The food was of very good quality and the service was exceptional. We will definitely be coming back.

Italian restaurant Pizzeria. Autentic italian restaurant since 1994. Pizza, Pasta, fish, and steak.
We had previously been to the now defunct branch in Windsor, but as we live nearby, decided to try the Crowthorne branch. Glad we did. Very warm welcome on a Tuesday evening, and it filled up quickly. I asked our waiter his opinion on the Jamie's collapse, and he explained that all restaurants have been suffering increased food and staff costs, rates etc. On to our food choice and we boringly both chose Calamari (delicious), then lovely seafood dishes as mains. No chance to try a dessert as we were full. Reasonable bill including the wine was about £65 plus optional tip. Worth a repeat visit, and to the one in Eton near my sister.

We go here frequently for breakfast, lunch, dinners and even take aways. The seafood pasta transport me immediately to Rome. All food is wonderful and the Chef/owner is clearly passionate about his food. Keep it up please, we love you! Oo and the coffee is delicious!

We are a Italian/Spanish restaurant that is open every day serving a variety of Italian dishes and authentic Spanish tapas.
My most recent visit was up to the high standards I've grown accustomed to from the team! The restaurant itself is nicely done out, with a core of friendly and attentive waiting staff. The food, both the Spanish tapas-style and the Italian options, is delicious. Make sure you get a helping of fried courgette in your vegetable sides. The portion sizes are plentiful, often too big for a slightly overgrown man. You'll regret ordering too much, just because it tasted so good and you won't have room for it!There's a great value midweek value menu that's worth checking out too.If I had two small complaints, it would be the lack of a starter menu (go with tapas instead) and the occasionally slow meal prep time (drink some of the lovely wine).Although Don Beni competes on pasta, there's no restaurant like it in Crowthorne. Keep it up!
