Lovely chilled lunch at a typical little Italian cafe right opposite the cathedral. Great atmosphere and lovely friendly staff who made us feel very very welcome. Our poor Italian wasn't a problem either as the hostess spoke enough English to make us comfortable.Food was fabulous with a huge selection of pizzas and pastas and their own speciality sandwiches. Add to that a couple of local beers and some wine and the whole lunchtime experience couldnt be beaten. And all for 30 euros. Great value for money and thoroughly recommended.Grazie

Overall this is a nice place. Pastas, meat dishes and desserts all more than passable. However the cheerful staff are too stretched, literally running all night.to serve a lot of covers. This meant that service, though extremely friendly, was just not efficient enough to warrant a four out of five.

We went there in June twice and both visits where great. Interesting and unique place. Il Sasso sits beside the "back road " into Citta di Castello. It is a bar/restaurant that has a huge picnic area, children's play stuff and a unique pool at the base of a waterfall for paddling and swimming. The bar can sell you ingredients to make your own al fresco lunch. Very Italian, off the main tourist routes and worth a visit !

Nothing was too much trouble for the delightful staff in this excellent eatery. The food was all fantastic - the mixed antipasto, risotto made with smoked cheese which was delicious and came in a massive portion, duck breast, steak all super quality. Even the bread included different flavours - one with rosemary and another with sage. Desserts didn't disappoint either, notably the tiramisu and parfait. All of this was served by a friendly team who were always nearby if you needed to order more drinks or might want more bread, for example. We had a lovely evening here. Highly recommended.

Love this restaurant. Our waitress, Gloria, is very friendly and knowledgeable. Food is outstanding. Had mixed charcuterie (very generous portion), pistachio crusted lamb, pineapple carpaccio dessert - all delicious. Place is quite small and very popular so make sure you reserve a table.

This is what Italian food is about: lovely fresh pasta, in a quiet corner of the city, with very friendly staff. Highly recommended!

The is a listing under hotels on TA but nothing under Restaurants. You don't have to stay at the hotel to eat there. Cuisine is Italian. But your page of questions would not highlight that!
Not far from Citta di Castello, drive through Lerchi and look for a sign on the left for the tiny road to Celle. Drive up and up to arrive at the Ristorante of Borgo di Celle. This is a lovely place to eat in the warm weather months. Possibly not at weekends as they cater for celebrations including weddings. A delicious lunch for two with good wine set us back ⬠75 in total. The setting is panoramic and close to the Pilgrims Way, (via Francigena). Naturally the water was San Pelligrino! The staff are kind and the piped music can hardly be heard in the elegant, tented dinning area.
