We had a free evening from visiting relatives, so we dined locally in the town of Chieti. The grilled vegetables were delicious, so delicious that we ordered a second plate. The scamorza (pan fried cheese) along with fresh, thin sliced lean prosciutto was tasty, and we ate it with an order of fresh, warm foccaccia bread. This simple meal with a few glasses of wine equaled anything we ate all throughout Italy.

PerlynHighly recommendedSituated in Chieti's center, a cozy bar restaurant with staff very courteous. It offers different kind of Italian coffee, each very particular and superb... and not to forget the fresh fruit juices and delicacies. My friend from New Jersey was very satisfied of the service. .

Chieti is a pleasant place, as is this restaurant. A Tuesday lunchtime and pretty busy, mainly I suspect with local people. The interior probably wouldn't win any awards for its decor et cetera, but the food was okay. We had one dish of spaghetti con vongole (clams) which was fine, and one of pasta with chickpeas which was delicious. With a half litre of house red wine all for â¬20 which in terms of value, not bad. Service bit matter of fact, but nothing to complain about.

Pandino is a gourmet sandwich shop. It was born from idea to create high quality sandwiches and to achieve a bond between tradition and innovation
You'd never imagine how tasty and delicious a simple panico could be, if you never ate one made by a real chef! This is the case: very natural selected ingredients, tasty recipes and a very charmy place, tiny and fashionable! What else, Pandino is located in the center of Chieti Scalo ad has also very tasty beers so don't hesitate and taste your first gourmet panino.

local immersed in the municipal villa of chieti. offers various services, traditional and Italian menu, offers a buffet lunch and the possibility to eat pizza for lunch.
Nestled in the lovely historical town of Chieti lies a wonderful park with fountains, playgrounds and plenty of shaded seating. Just by the main fountain is La Casina dei Tigli, a cafè and restaurant with both indoor and al fresco seating. There is an option to eat on site or order take away (perfect for a picnic in the park). We stopped for a family lunch and sat in the main restaurant, we ordered a mix of traditional starters, followed by pasta and pizza for the kids. Service was fast, bringing out the kids' food first which we were pleased about as it gave us time to enjoy the wonderful board of cheeses and hams with a glass of local red wine, all delicious. The selection of pizzas were impressive and in particular the list of Gourmet pizzas was mouth watering (all with Burrata cheese!). Overall, a perfect location for lunch or dinner by the park, wonderful and cordial service combined with excellent food. And with 2 playgrounds to choose from right next door the kids were happy too! Highly recommended.
