Brilliant food, brilliant wine, brilliant service, brilliant value for money! BUT... the lasagne isn't cooked with mince meat as we are used to, more like a pulled meat, Which was a bit tough for the member of our party who ordered it. However the flavour and pasta and sauce for the lasagne was brilliant. Carbonara and bolognese in particular were top notch. Would recommend Ciao Ciao's over the more expensive Italian restaurants nearby.

The restaurant of Da Riccardo De Maria is an Italian pizzerÃa spaghetteria trattoria located in El Campello, Alicante. It offers authentic fresh and delicious Italian food. Its romantic atmosphere with candels is ideal to enjoy your special moments with I
I have been eating here for more than 15 years, and have always found the food to be reliably good. On this visit i was a little surprised that one of the dishes we chose was quite bland. It was a pasta dish that my we have ordered a few times in the past and it was always tasty, not sure what happened on this visit, maybe one ingredient was accidentally forgotten!! The other dish we had was as nice as I remember, again having had it a few times before. I also felt it was a bit of a shame that the parmesan cheese offered was the very finely milled variety (from a packet or tine) and not an actual bit of cheese that could have been grated directly onto our food. The parmesan cheese offered was bland also.Dear Matt, one tiny mistake in 15 years that we are serving you doing our best, I humbly believe we donât deserve these words and score, but we know youâll come back for our delightful homemade cuisine ;) and if we could vote cliente youâll always score 5 âï¸ Arrivederci!

We ate here twice in our week staying in a nearby apartment. The staff were friendly and attentive, service was prompt and the food was very good. This is an Italian themed restaurant, with a good range of pizzas, as well as a full menu of more interesting dishes. There is a good selection of wines too.

We've been to La Espiga in the past and would've rated it a strong 4, however this visit really disappointed us... all down to the service of staff. We arrived at 8:15pm, which is early and before the rush, and was told there was only two tables available inside that aren't reserved. We accepted one of these tables. The restaurant was quiet at this point. We ordered our drinks and food and our starter was out within a matter of 5 minutes. We ordered some bread and then some calamaris between two. The bread came out warm which was lovely, but there was nothing to accompany it and it was very plain. We asked for some butter however they said that wasn't available, but offered the alternative of aliolli. We accepted this. Shortly after, our calamaris came out and the portion size was great. As we both ate through these, our mains came out and were dumped onto the side of our small, two-person table whilst we were still eating our starters? The restaurant was still quiet at this point. We had clear view into the kitchen and the chefs looked not to be busy. We were very unhappy with this and felt rushed whilst we were still eating our starters and our mains were left to go cold on the side of the table. There was not an essence of embarrassment from the staff that this is wholly inappropriate and we were no where finished with our starters. We were unable to enjoy our mains due to our frustration with the "starters catastrophe" and were debating whether we should mention anything. I eventually politely asked the lady, who I assume is the owner/manager, if she can speak good English in order to make a complaint. Unfortunately she said she isn't strong enough speaking English for this to be a possibility, which is fine as we didn't want to create a drama - but just politely express our disappointment. 10 minutes later another lady came across and asked what the issue is (who I assume the manager asked to come over). We explained several times the issue and how we were disappointed and again she unfortunately struggled to understand. She then shouted across the restaurant mid-explanation for another member of staff to come over. At this point we said it doesn't matter however they insisted we explain our complaint. We did again, a final time, and the only explanation we had from the waiter was "it's a Saturday. It's always like this on Friday, Saturday and Sunday." However, the restaurant at this point was very quiet. Following this poorly constructive apology, the waiters, chefs and manager huddled around the kitchen area only to make us feel uncomfortable by complaining about our complaint! As a result of this, the rest of the experience was extremely uncomfortable and we didn't enjoy it one bit. We certainly won't be returning anytime soon.

The good is excellent, and the price is very reasonable. Itâs right on the sea front so it has perfect views. However, the service is slow and the staff are not the most polite. I had a tram to catch so gave myself plenty of time to pay, but I had to ask for the bill three times from the same waiter, and I explained as time went on that I was in a hurry. In the end I had to ask another waiter for it, it shouldnât take 20 minutes for your bill to arrive.

One of the best pizzerias in El Campello, have visited this restaurant on several occasions. The service is quick, and the staff is friendly. They also have pasta dishes, but I have only tried their pizzas. They serve Italian style pizzas, with plenty of topping. The prices are also very food for the quality of the food.

Had a great meal here last year, so had to go back. Once again we had a delicious meal and the service was excellent. My wife felt unwell, so couldn't eat much of her excellent lasagne, so they packed it for us to take away and enjoy later, which we did.We expect to be returning to Campello and will definitely be eating at La Vela again.Thank you very much. It is a pleasure for us to take your time to leave us a positive review on this website. Thank you very much again. We hope to see you soon
