Things to do in Caccamo

This restaurant was recommended to us, and now we make a point of visiting whenever we return to Sicily.Generally we have the tasting menu which is just amazing. Seasonal anti-pasti, followed by two pastas, and then the meat course. They make the local sausages in-house and they are not to be missed! Then cannoli for pudding and coffee if you can manage it. It's all washed down with local wine and bottles of water and comes in at about 22 Euros a head. That said, if one of you has a smaller appetite, they're more than happy to give you one cover fewer and you all share. The staff are always friendly and it's just a great place to go.Don't be expecting fine dining, or anything fancy. Often the TV is on, and your espresso will come in a plastic cup. But this is typical Sicilian cuisine at its best.

Noi torneremo sicuramente!

The Caccamo citizen who advised us this place for lunch, and also advised us to warn them by phone, he is really worthy of our gratitude. In fact, the property prepares the set of fabulous food which we will discuss describe, primarily for overnight guests. To these can be added other guests, but they should announce themselves before the cook begins his work; otherwise you risk to limit you to eat (say) grilled steak and salad, as has happened to other guests who came after us and who had not had the suggestion to dial. The owner, a distinguished and gracious lady, presented orally us the menu. Having my wife remarked that she could not eat all the dishes listed, she suggested to take two portions of the starters, and only a portion (to be divided among us) of the first courses, the main dishes and desserts. We followed the advice, and we also ate more than enough. So our advice is to order whole portions of the set menu only when really hungry. Here is the "sumptuous" list of dishes. We started with a cocktail, eaten standing up, in which the brut sparkling wine accompanied: pieces of flat bread with cottage cheese, or with tomatoes and peppers; pizza with olives and tomatoes; cheese stuffed with olives or chili; various kinds of salami and olives.Sitting at the table, we were then served the appetizers: ham with fresh figs, omelettes, eggplant "caponata".Next, two first courses: "penne" pasta with zucchini cream; rice with sausage and lemon. As main dishes, meat loaf, rolls, fresh sausage grilled. Finally, cannoli "mignon" and bits of white melon with cinnamon. This list of refined foods can give the idea of ââproperty's excellence, excellence that we still confirm. It is undoubtedly one of the best lunches we experienced. One can not overlook the "bill" factor: 40 ⬠for two persons, inclusive of house wine at will, water and coffee. Even taking into account the fact that - as I wrote - first and main courses were shared, the bill is another merit that adds appeal to this fabulous experience.

We've been there many times and no any time we've never regreted about our dinning! The meal is always fresh and delicious, no matter what is it: pasta or pizza, meat or fish / seafoods, it's always the best! My best dishes from Spiga D'Oro are:- vitello "quatro formaggio" - veal in sauce "four cheeses" - aaaaaaaaaaaa!!! the best one!- gamberoni arrosto - rose king prawns are fried with garlic and herbs, mmmmmmm- spagetti con vongole - pasta with clams, also very much mmmmmmmmmmmmmand all other plates!!! Also I recommend you to try their house-made desserts like tiramisu, semifreddo, pannacota - I've never ate more delicious deserts anywhere else in the world, including other places in Italy and Sicily!!!Hope when you eat there you will remember me with a big thank ;)Thank's for your rec :)

Restaurant and Pizzeria, Sicilian cuisine: rustic appetizers, grilled meats, wide choice of desserts. The main room is an ethno-anthropological museum of civilization.
Our group of 8 relatives enjoyed a delicious lunch here. Everyone had something different and all meals were very good. The cannoli were some of our favorite that we tasted in all of Sicily. The filling was so creamy with chocolate chips.Thank you for your review! I am glad to read your experience was so positive, it is our lovely work! <3 Best regards
