We went there because of high TA ratings-which I cannot understand. My spaghetti with olives and capers was very good-sauce was tasty and pasta cooked just right. Husband had lasagna which was quite small with nothing else alongside. He said it was just ok. The restaurant is small with what looked like just the owner and assistant taking and delivering orders. No bread was offered.I wouldnât say this was the best Italian I ever had but at least my pasta was very good. Be aware portions are not large and small tables are very close together.

Through an apparent miscommunication between our hotel and this restaurant, we were unable to get a table here. Then we were told by the owner that we werenât dressed appropriately...but that wasnât the reason we were refused service. If he hadnât said that, I wouldnât have been bothered. But because he mentioned it - it made me think that was the actual reason. Yes we were dressed like tourists who had been sightseeing all day - because we had been. But we had also traveled the trains for over 30 min to get there. It was terribly frustrating. The owner did make a reservation for us at his other restaurant and gave us a complimentary glass of champagne, which was nice. However the encounter left a bitter taste in my mouth. If you want to eat here, definitely make a reservation and dress for it.

Pay for the location and view. Nice to sit and have a cup of tea when the sun sets. Best value for money is a pot of tea. About 1600 yen plus 18 % taxes/charges on top. Get 3 - 4 cups out of the tea pot. One pot per person. Wouldn't worry about ordering food.Dear YamuramachiThank you for taking the time to share your review following your dining experience at K'shiki. We look forward to the pleasure of welcoming you back to the hotel for another memorable experience.Yours sincerely,Social Media CommunicationsMandarin Oriental, Tokyo

This is a lovely place to visit especially during Springtime, where Sakura can be seen along the side of the river bank. There is a train that passes by, which makes this place very scenic. The food was fabulous, we had pasta and pizza. They have a free flow bar of dessert and appetizer.Service crew were polite but speaks little English.
