Reviews on Italian food in Brownsville, Texas, United States. At the mouth of the Rio Grande delta and the southernmost tip of Texas, Brownsville enjoys the perfect combination of casual southwestern charm and bicultural diversity. Its position just across the international pedestrian bridge from Matamoros makes it a good base for day trips to Mexico, or for just enjoying the Tex-Mex culture of south Texas. Warm Gulf breezes, blooming bougainvilleas, gently waving palms, soft white sands and friendly, diverse locals make this city a semi-tropical paradise.

We were a large group going for our evening meal. The service was very slow and they had to be prompted to take our drinks and food order. The drinks took forever to arrive and were closely followed by the starters and some of the main courses for half the group. The other main courses were served over the next 30 mins, needless to say nearly everyone had finished by the time the last meal was served. My dish of chicken ravioli was served hot on the outside and stone cold on the inside - this was sent back straight away. Would not come here again.

This place was fantastic! A locally owned Italian Restaurant that'll knock the socks off the Italian franchises around the corner! Fabrizzio's has an old school appreciation for raw, bursting flavors, where everything is made scratch in the kitchen. Everything we had seemed to stand out. Even the appetizer of what you would think were standard mozzarella sticks proved to be delectable as the full flavor of mozzarella pulled through its thin breaded crust, topped with Fabrizzio's very own marinara. The creaminess of the Carbonara was very pronounced to balance the bacon flavor of the dish. The creaminess was reminiscent of a Rockefeller sauce! The homemade breads served with your meal are a treat all on their own, you simply cant have a single serving. To finish off the meal, just make sure to remember to save some room for desert... your ganna want to try their deserts. The Happy Hour is one of the best in town if you happen to catch it on a Friday evening, We'd say to stop on in and enjoy their incredible Happy Hour, work up an appetite and finish it off with one of Fabrizzio's delectable dinners. Buon Appetito!!!
Good Authentic Italian Food, good enough to make a table full of Italians wanna come back! The food is all authentically traditional Italian. The flavors that burst from these dishes are a welcome change from the Amercianized Italian chains that you'll run into just down the way. The service was spot on with us. She was welcoming, informative, and lovely company. The view from the deck is one to enjoy during sunset! And the chef manning the kitchen is a true Italian, through and through. With a product this good we're surprised not to see this restaurant marketed throughout the valley. With such a rare treat of a menu, we were baffled that we hadn't heard of it. Sure you see it from the highway as you drive by but if it wasn't for the fact that we wanted to dine by the pond view at our old location we used to visit, we would have never figured to stop by. Truth is, we're happy we stumbled upon this place. The hospitality from a local restaurateur is hard to beat and we hope to see Geko thrive and stick around for years to come,

A great place for lunch.Pizza by the slice, pastas, calzones, etc. Great prices. As about their specials. Two slices and soda cheaper than getting separate orders.Love the cheese bread. The pastas come with a salad and bread, OMG, large amount of food. Great flavor for quick take out.

Stopped in for a late lunch, and enjoyed the Soup, Salad, and breadsticks. We also had an ice cold beer. As always, the food was prepared well, with quality ingredients, and consistent flavours, no matter which Olive Garden you visit! Eaten at this chain up in Canada, and all places in between. Always consistently good food, at a reasonable price, with good service to boot! Weâve tried a number of their dishes, and all have been very good! Good dining experience!

It says, "Pizzaria" but it is a full-menu Italian restaurant. We went to have lunch with a group of 12 who needed 8 checks. We were waiting for late arrivals, so didn't worry about placing orders quickly. When all had arrived, our waitress had to be summoned, but after taking orders she provided flat bread and spiced Sicilian olive oil -very nice! Then there was a very long wait, seemed like close to an hour, until meals started dribbling in. They came randomly, two on a check did not come together! One diner never got the salad he ordered, but his calzone more than made up for the omission. Getting checks took over half an hour and two requests, first to the manager, then directly to the waitress. My wife and I left our money on the table, including the 20% tip that was added in. No use trying to wait for checkout. On the plus side, the food was very good. We shared a Stromboli calzone and it was plenty of food for us. The sandwich may have had too many black olives, but was quite tasty and was accompanied by a very complementary tomato sauce. Others were very positive about their entrees as well. It's possible that the restaurant was understaffed that day. It's also possible that they just aren't good at handling groups. Some of our diners had eaten there as couples or foursomes and found the service very good. My advice is, Don't go with a group.

We had lunch here and the Caesar salad I had was excellent with a large portion of chicken. The service was very prompt and pleasant. The restrooms were clean and the place was comfortable over all. We will definitely return.
