Unbelievably unprofessional rude, owner, short and simple. Unfortunately, this is a poor representation of the Cottage Inn brand. We tried to redeem a very much valued Local Flavor coupon, and the facility refused to accept it. The owner came out of his Jeep into the store and said that they stopped accepting the coupon (even though I had already paid $10 for it and it was still prior to the expiration date. When I asked how that could be he proceeded to tell me that was the previous owner, he doesn’t get any money from this, and do like the other people that tried to redeem the coupon, call customer service for a refund. When I stood there dumbfounded and mentioned to him, very calm and conversationally, that I thought that was awful customer service, and this wasn’t a great approach to establishing loyal customer base. To which point he yelled at me loudly and angrily to leave his store (which at this point scared the beejeezus out of my 13 year old daughter who ran out of the building). As I left, I mentioned to him, again conversationally, “Thank you for your customer service and for being a pillar of the community”, at which case he waved his hand and yelled “Go!!”. I’ve never been treated so awfully in any customer or restaurant situation, and was taken aback, shocked and mortified at this confrontation from the owner of an establishment, and frankly am absolutely amazed that someone like this would be permitted to own, or even run or work in, a store. I will never, ever go to this location again, and will never spend another dime at any Cottage Inn location (which is a shame, because we absolutely love the wonderful, beautiful original Ann Arbor location).

this is a take out place. Has great pizzas. We had one with Italian sausage and one with pepperoni. The salad size was a bit too big. Pizzas were great and very affordable.

You're right here because my mother got me a gift certificate otherwise to try to avoid chain restaurants for obvious reasons. The food was good the restaurant was well maintained. The wait staff was slow and unattentive and the mixed drinks not very well made or worth the price.

Went there with hubby, Saturday night-had a reservation. Neighbor recommended this restaurant but warned me that they changed tables twice because they were cold, manager did finally turn up the heat for her. My experience was similar, we were seated across from the door and rather than change tables just sat with coat in my lap the whole time. Problem with this being a former coney. Anyway I highly recommend the New England clam chowder. Unfortunately it was on special so don’t know if they have it all the time. It was hot and delicious. My husbands steak was good but my eggplant parmigiana was not very good. We waited almost an hour for the main course after soup, salad an bread. We were told that the manager wasn’t pleased with the way it was cooked and wanted it to be perfect-well not even close. The eggplant was tough and served on a bed of spaghetti leaving the whole meal tasting like ordinary spaghetti that I can cook at home. The calamari was ok. I guess my benchmark for Italian food is Giovanni’s and this doesn’t come close. Given the $40.00 price tag for an 8 oz filet, the chilly temperature of the restaurant, the disappointing parmigiana and the extended wait time for the main course I don’t think we will return. Wanted to like it, too bad.

We had not been to the restaurant since the new owners took over. There is a new menu and the proprietors have partnered with local resources/ farmers for beef, vegetables and more. They also state that the food items are from organic sources. The food is very good, but the prices have increased dramatically from $15 per entree' to $25+ per entree'. Friends recently went to the restaurant and felt that they were not "friendly" to those of small children as they were seated at a high table with a booster seat when standard tables and booths were available. We witnessed the same thing on our visit. Having traveled through Europe, I feel that high tables are an American restaurant novelty, which I refuse to be seated at. I am giving 4 "stars" just because of the huge increase in prices with the change in ownership.Thank you very much for your review. As you stated we have partnered with many local vendors to serve the freshest and preservative free food. We are a very family friendly Bistro and seating at a high top would only occur when previous reservations have been made in our main dinning area.

My husband and I have been here a couple times, admittedly our visits have been few and far between but every time we have come the food has been great. Tonight was no exception. I had the chicken marsala, my husband had the New York strip. Both were fantastic and the service was on point. The only reason I've given 4 instead of 5 stars is because there was an odd smell in the restaurant. It wasn't a smell of bad food, I think it was a residual cleanser sent, so I only mention it cautiously. I definitely recommend eating here. Subsequently, if you're a fan of some of the Vintage classic cocktails, you might be happy to know that a Gimlet is actually listed on their menu. That's one of my favorites, so I was quite pleased. :-)
