Visited this evening and despite being understaffed and rushed off their feet, everyone working was so polite and could not have been more helpful. Our waitress Sue was wonderful, apologetic about circumstances out of her own control and couldn't do enough for us. The food was brilliant and my nan is already desperate to come back!

Cafe Casita

Paid nearly £70 for a very average meal. Starters were ok but nothing special. Risotto was quite nice, but pasta was £12 for basically pasta and tomato sauce that was less tasty than you’d get from a decent jar. Service was average - asked for a jug of water and got 2 small glasses, weren’t offered a chance to try wine, and glasses never got topped up, no one checked if the food was ok until they cleared the plates. If the bill had been £40ish we’d have been reasonably happy, but the meal definitely wasn’t worth what we paid.

I had high hopes for our meal after seeing the other mostly positive reviews however I found the whole experience sadly disappointing. The decor is fresh and clean but no atmosphere, though that could be helped if the lighting was softened. We didn’t have the usual warm, friendly professional welcome you’d expect. Our table for 5 (4 adults and 1 child) was pointed out to us across the room, rather than being escorted to and there was no complimentary bruschetta or garlic bread that other reviewers mention having and is usual in most Italian restaurants. We all found the portions rather small but very heavy on the sauce. We made different selections but all found that the food, although not inedible was totally devoid of any flavour. I had the prawns in garlic starter but couldn’t taste any garlic, it’s served with a salad garnish rather than a hunk of bread to dunk. It’s usually a moorish dish but again bland and wet with soggy salad swimming in the sauce. Oddly there are no wonderful cooking aromas either. I like Italian restaurants for their relaxed family friendly atmosphere, not feeling rushed throughout the meal but the service was dire and for a Saturday night the place was very quiet. If it was busy and buzzing you could forgive slow service but if it had been better we would have spent more money and had more than one round of drinks over a 3 course meal!!! This is the first time I have not left a tip after a meal and that we left still feeling hungry after spending £150. It’s overpriced for very mediocre food and the environment doesn’t compensate for it.

This was our first visit and we were truly impressed. Very friendly staff and we were made to feel really welcome. Service was outstanding and the food was out of this world. We had Gamberoni All' Aglio and Zuppa Del' Aglio for starters. Main meal was Halibutt with vegetables and Spaghetti Carbonara. Sweet was the Amaretti Amarena, all this plus Aperol Spritzers. A simply amazing evening and all of the staff are simply amazing and I cannot praise them enough. Will certainly be going again and sooner rather than later. Love the place!!!It gives us great pleasure to read such positive feedback on our food and service.we hope to see you in the near future. Thank you
