Find out what Italian restaurants to try in Blue Mountains. The Blue Mountains are named for the delicate azure haze that lingers along the region, which is actually a fine cloud of oil emitted by eucalyptus trees. The mystical mountains are a labyrinth of plateaus, gorges and gum trees. Check out the Katoomba Scenic Railway (the steepest railway in the world), the Jenolan Caves and the Giant Staircase nature walk.

The one and only Monte's ... A Blue Mountains Tradition since 1988 We are now a vegan and gluten free menu restaurant Monte's Recommends Booking, we are closed Tuesday Evenings
We were recommended to go here for Italian. I must admit I was expecting a traditional Italian restaurant, but discovered it's really a pizza place. Nevertheless the food was great. The pizzas we had were the best I've had for a long long time. Toppings were great and some unusual combinations. Staff were friendly and the food arrived quickly. What I really liked was that you could see the pizzas being made, and see that they were not ready-made bases... there was a mound of dough ready to be made into the bases. My only dislike was how small the place is. They do have an outside area, but that would be too cold, I think, even with the heaters, in the cooler weather. Inside was very cramped, especially when people were there to collect take-aways, which there were many of, Nevertheless I'd go again. The owner was super-nice and the food was great.

The Piedmont Inn has been Blackheath's iconic restaurant since 1982. The Italian theme of the restaurant still exists and we continue to serve a great range of pastas, pizzas and meals to suit every taste for both dine and takeaway. We only use whole food
obviously popular with the locals, this is a very busy small restaurant. only open 4 evenings a week so it is recommended that you book. the Pizzas are original and very tasty. the pastas sauces are mostly cream based so they are very rich but overall the service is good and the atmosphere friendly.

We visited Michaelangelo's for a family birthday. Loved the decor and the friendly welcome. We had an amazing waitress. Dee really knew how to impress. Her knowledge of the menu, helpfulness in getting the timing right for all of our orders. She was there when she needed her and was otherwise unobtrusive. She had a great sense of humour and had her eyes on every small detail. Very impressive! Thanks Dee for making a really good night exceptional. Then there was the food and that was excellent in every way from presentation, quantity and flavour. So excellent food and service means we will definitely be back.

As a local it's taken us a while to try La Famiglia but having now been twice in the last month I can confidently recommend it. Really excellent pizzas, great service, cosy ambience, caring and attentive owner and reasonably priced drinks. All in all, the perfect local eatery to visit with friends. We'll definitely be back.

Stayed here on a work trip with a client who had been here previously. An excellent experience with great meals and friendly staff. The scallops entree were good followed by grilled fish. The whole experience went well and clean and well managed. Would certainly come back here again.
