Papa Angelo's Pizzeria

The family is originally from NYC and the décor inside is about NYC. Being from the NJ/NY area where they serve real pizza, not the Oklahoma style which appears to be only cooked 3 seconds past raw and can only be completely white top and bottom, Papa's is cooked correctly-some browning on the bottom and top-and in a pizza oven not a conveyor belt. If you like pizza, go here and see what real pizza looks and tastes like. Friendly staff!Only con is they close from 2pm to 5pm.

Wife & I went here for lunch. They offer lunch portions for a few dollars less than dinner prices. I had the chicken Parmesan with Marinara on top of the chicken & on bottom was alfredo noodles & white alfredo sauce which was very good & filling. They had about 3 other items on the menu I would like to try when we go back. We will be back for sure.

Empire Slice House

This really is a great pizza place in a great location. Lots of shops and other dessert places around here. They have very large pizzas or a few options to order by the slice. Prices are very reasonable considering the pizza is so much better than chains. We tried a half cheese and the meatball one (they have funny names). The crust is great and fresh and the toppings are flavorful. The waitress here was great and the food came out quickly. We also tried some slice options as you can try the daily options from a list. If you’ve had andolinis pizza it’s very similar in style but I like Empires pizza a lot more. Also worth noting they also offer your traditional mozzarella and basil pies. They have a book for drinks as well. The music and atmosphere is great but the volume is a tad loud for my taste. We arrived a little before 5 and the whole area got really busy. I will be back to try more slices.

I was here for a business trip and my coworker and I were in the mood for Italian food. We found Vito's after a quick "Google" search and took a Lyft to the restaurant. First impression was a little questionable as the front door access seemed a little odd. When we walked in, we saw the restaurant had quite a few patrons and the dishes were abundant and colorful. The woman who greeted us was so friendly and accommodating, that we felt like old friends. The food we selected came from an abundant menu with plenty of options to choose from. I had the chicken Marsala, with broccoli and pasta with the house red sauce, and my coworker had a shrimp and pasta dish. Both were very good. Wine selection is decent albeit a little pricey but we still chose to have a glass each. We understand the location will soon change to across the street, likely to provide more seating for this very popular restaurant. If you want to find a nice family style restaurant away from the Brickyard, make your way to Vito's. You won't be disappointed.
