It's too bad the staff doesn't know what is included in the Wednesday night special. It clearly states on the sign that any Parmesan dish for $ 14.50 including Pasta plus your choice of Soup or Salad. We were shorted our pasta as we were told it's either a choice of the three. Other than that misunderstanding, the service was friendly. I tried the veal Parmesan and my company had the chicken. Although the dishes were made the same way, Onion powder must have been added to mine and not the chicken. The flavor was a bit overpowering and turned a good dish to below average. The Pasta Fagioli was bland and I would not order it again. The salad dressing was good but over mostly iceberg, not mixed greens. The warm bread was a nice touch.Overall, the place has potential although I really think they should honor what they advertise. The ambiance cozy and quiet, but the food is inconsistent.

Cafe Gio doesn't require reservations! Come and enjoy our large, Italian menu consisting of delicious, Neapolitan and artisan pies, fresh salads, seafood, pastas, entrees and more.
Nice restaurant near sunrise highway, plenty of parking. We had the minastone soup, salad and large cheese pie, the food is good, pizza is good, nice menu, it does get crowded.

Average tasting pizza with a nice decor. Great spot for take out. Small booths for quick eat-in. Not a resturant, but great atmosphere under the LIRR!

Highly recommend reservations. 6pm reservations. Saturday night full. Our friends and we were seated on time. Kyle was our server. I ordered escarole and bean soup. My husband enjoyed the veal Marsala. My friend enjoyed the parade with white clam sauce and her husband the chicken special. Everything was delicious.

The chef eats his own cooking here and it shows. Food is fresh, the pasta is excellent, and there are flashes of imagination on a big menu full of options. I didn't see anyone ordering pizza but there were smiles on everyone's faces. Service is friendly and home style. Definitely worth a trip.

I went with my family this past Saturday July 8, 2017-We have eaten here before, enjoyed it and my daughter just recently bought a home about a mile away. The place was not crowded for our 7:30 reservation and we sat outside. We immediately ordered drinks and a scoop of vanilla ice cream for my 31/2 year old grandson requesting the waiter bring it right away. It took a good 15 minutes to get our drinks and i then gave my appetizer order which consisted of both the hot and cold anti-pasta and an order of baked clams. The waiter informed us that we should also order the entrees at this time and I said we weren't prepared yet to just bring my grandson the ice cream now. Another 10 minutes went by and the waiter came back to take our entree order again-Once more I asked for the ice cream-Another 10 minutes passed and the waiter again returned for the entree order-He was told again to bring the ice cream-My wife got up shortly after to talk a manager, a tall blond woman. She came back with the ice cream but with no apology. We were now at the restaurant for 40 minutes- The manager walked by our table shortly after and I asked what the delay was-She stated that the computer froze and the order never went in-No apology-Just looked at us like "whatever"-I informed the waiter to just bring out the appetizers we weren't going to order anything else-Another 15 minutes went by, no appetizers yet and we decided to leave and I asked for a check-Another 5 minutes went by no check and we walked to the front door where manager stated that there would be no bill-Still no apology- I thanked her and walked out-One of the worst dining experiences I've had-Definitely did not know how to make things right and placate the customer.

I wouldnât go there again. My food was undercooked. The potatoes were almost raw. 3 times the waitress came to ask me if I am done eating to she can clear my table and bring us the check. I wasnât finished but she made us feel unwelcome and so I said she can wrap it up. A minute later she was back with the check. A minute after that she came to collect the check. I told her we hadnât discussed it yet so I would break it down for her by putting the cards and how much to charge each. She said she will do it for us - she came back with a set of bills that were split equally. I didnât drink alcohol yet I had to pay as if I had. Unacceptable service, food is not good. The only good thing about this place is the venue but that is not enough. We're very sorry that you felt rushed. We want all our guests to be able to enjoy their food in a comfortable and welcoming space. We'll be sure to talk to our wait staff to make sure this kind of thing doesn't happen moving forward. We thank you again for your comments, and we hope you'll be back to see us improve.
