I Due Buoi - Michelin Star Restaurant. The restaurant is open: Mon - Fri 12:30 - 14:30 with the Light Lunch menu. Mon - Sat 20:00 - 22:30 with the Gourmet menu. Closed on Sunday.
We were two couples that went for a lunch in June 2017. The overall experience was great, on every level. Service was attentive (and the wine suggestions perfect!), ambiance very nice and the food is amazing. The asian influences of chef Jumpei Kuroda (who came to the table to introduce us to the main dishes) are a perfect match to Piemonte's cuisine. This is one of the those rare restaurants that performs way above its price point.Thank you so much for your opinion. We are very pleased that you enjoyed the kitchen full of flavours by Jumpei kuroda and our wine suggestions. But the most significant compliment is: "this is one of the those rare restaurants that performs way above its price point".That is our main mission together to give a unique experience to our customers.

Even if this cooperative-run restaurant was not part of such a noble cause, providing work for people in need, the lunchtime meal we enjoyed was certainly the best and most memorable one we had during our week in Piemonte. Despite being late October, we were able to sit outside on the covered porch with a view of the nearby allotments from which some of the produce for the restaurant is grown. The menu for the day offered a splendid range of local foods typical of Northern Italian cuisine. We started with spaetzle al gorgonzola, a delicious reminder of our proximity to Germany, and tender homemade tortellini with cream, prosciutto, peas and saffron. Both pastas were excellent. Oftentimes, the main course is a disappointment after a good starter, but we both loved the succulent roasted rabbit with grilled bitter radicchio. There was so much good meat to be had; it made me vow to seek out rabbit back home in England. We also ordered arancini, the pyramid-shaped fried rice croquettes favoured by Inspector Montalbano in the South. They were a bit of a disappointment in the restaurant, served room temperature and a bit stodgy, but we took the leftovers back to our rented accommodation and sliced and re-fried them and they were delicious. We ordered a couple of side dishes to accompany our meal: roasted potatoes with rosemary and broccoli grown on the allotment. For dessert, we shared the castagnaccio, a dense chestnut tart made with raisins and rosemary and drizzled with honey made on site. It was unusual â not too sweet â but we preferred the pineapple, coconut, and rum bavarese, despite the fact that the ingredients were not local. The meal, with a half litre of house wine, cost us around 30 Euros, an unbelievable bargain considering the quality and novelty of the whole experience. I would definitely recommend this place for its food and social responsibility and would certainly make a return visit.

Our favourite gluten-free pizzeria/burger joint/restaurant was closed for the holidays. The AIC (Italian Coeliac Association) app showed us this nearby safe alternative.Burgers are a good size - 120g of meat for standard, 240 for maxi. The meat is well cooked and even the GF buns are impressively edible. My GF glamourous assistant struggled to eat all of the maxi classic. The Hellburger (standard size) was nearly as much as I can eat (it's just not fair that she weighs 50Kg and I weigh 85!). We came to the conclusion one portion of chips (french fries for you transatlantic readers) would have been enough. You can also have a variety of sandwiches and hot dogs. We didn't ask whether these could be GF. I had the "Chicago" hot dog, with more jalapeno. It's big, but not based on a frankfurter (but then I never had a hotdog in Chicago, so this could be authentic). You get a decent sized sausage for your money. The beer list includes GF beer, as well as some respectable German draughts. I observed that you can also get CocaCola if you are dry or under 18.This is a place I can see my grandchildren enjoying when they visit at Christmas, and we shall return!Altogether, the bill came to â¬32, laughably affordable. You do have to eat with your hands, and the electric hand dryer in the lavatory doesn't do much of a drying job. But when those are the worst things you can say about a restaurant, you'll probably do like us and go back again and again.

We wanted to go to Trattoria La Piola on Saturday for lunch. According to their opening hours, they were open, but unfortunately, the doors were shut without any announcement. Very disappointing, since we planned our lunch break in the morning and were very hungry and looked forward to eat in exactly this trattoria. Also the opening hours on the entrance door stated that the trattoria should be open.

Pure gem in heart of Alessandria very close to Duomo. Excellent food, extremely friendly and helpful service and Italian only speaking staff adds charm and homely warmth to this place! Add to that the owner who looks like young Al Pacino! Definitely the place not to miss! Loved it!

We booked well in advance as the place is super popular with the locals. We do not speak Italian but sent a Facebook messenger booking request in google-translate Italian and got the confirmation of our reservation in no time and without any problems. When we arrived, it was obvious that we were the only foreigners / English speakers in the room as the owners took extra care of us making sure we were all right and understood the Italian menu. Amazing hospitality from the moment we entered the restaurant made it one of the best dining experiences of our life! The food is amazing, the atmosphere wonderful, you feel welcome and comfortable and want to spend the entire evening there. Most guests go for an appetizer trolley as their first course, then you move onto the main â the choice of dishes is wonderfully limited â which implies everything is fresh and made to order! Everything we tasted as super delicious, the marinated onions which were part of the appetizer were the best I had in my life! The wine list is fine and we enjoyed a bottle of rich and fruity red with our meal. There is nothing negative to say about this restaurant. Highly recommended for food, service and ambiance. The best Italian dining experience in so far for us!

I have been here during the winter and reaching the place was quite easy. There is a big enough car parking free of charge for restaurant guests. The service quality is very high, waiters and waitresses are very polite, helpful and well prepared about the food preparation process, ingredients used, pairing of tastes and wine selection. The carte does not have a huge selection of food, which is already a sign of good quality!Portions are neither too small nor excessive, which makes a full course worth trying (starter, main course and dessert). The restaurant also offers a small pre-starter and a post-dessert which are very good accompaniers of the food selection. It's surely not a place to go for a cheap meal, as the good quality provided will be somehow reflected in the bill. For a starter, a main course, a dessert and a glass of wine per person you can expect to pay around â¬45 each.I definitely recommend this restaurant to anybody fancying quality food

This tiny cafe on the outskirts of Alessandria was full of locals. They only serve pannini for lunch but they have a great selection of tasty gourmet fillings & the staff were only too happy to make suggestions. Our panninis were delicious & the coffee was great.
