Visited on Wednesday 22nd with family. Servers undertrained and inattentive. Food incinerated: from the prawns and calamari, to the steak, fish and chips, salmon, sea bass, and lamb rack, everything was overcooked. Even the veg was overdone. Service was interminably slow. Avoid.

We were on vacation in Roscommon to meet up with members of "the clan" and chose Jackson's Restaurant & Guesthouse for this purpose. It was a perfect choice. The food was delicious, the setting was relaxed, conversation was fun and lively and we were able to linger there without feeling rushed. Thank you Jackson's for giving us a beautiful space, delicious food and time. We'll be back!

Restaurant with the Irish food. Breakfast,Lunch and Dinner. Situated on the N5. The small family business.
Desperate for food we stopped here. Nobody else in place a bit dark inside so we sat in the outside hall area which was nice but the 2 4 seater tables needed a clean. We set the table ourselves and the waitress never wiped it down. Waitress could have been a bit more pleasant/ welcoming. Waited a long time for the food (there is a notice in the menu that its all freshly cooked so takes time). We ordered grilled chicken with pesto, brie and sundried tomatoes (nice but not grilled), plaice goujons and smoked salmon pasta (great portion of prawns and smoked salmon). Chicken and fish came with same chips and salad. We were all happy with our food and would stop there again.

We stayed at the castle 2 nights (see separate review) and dined here for dinner. Our server provided exceptional attention (something we found remiss in our 3 weeks of vacation thus far) and the food was wonderfully presented. We were very full but that didnât stop us from sharing the chocolate soufflé. A wonderful evening.Dear Guest, Many thanks for the wonderful review posted recently and for taking the time to tell us of your experience at Douglas Hyde Restaurant. I was delighted to read your lovely post. I have shared your comments with my colleagues and they join me in thanking you. I hope it is not too long before we have the pleasure of welcoming you back again. Yours sincerely, Emanuel Covasa, Restaurant Manager.

Recommended by our Roscommon Arch House B&B we were just looking for an evening meal. Despite appearances as typical Irish pub Regan's provides you with an excellent meal that would grace any top class restaurant. The ingredients were fresh and well prepared, with large portions. The owner's run a tight ship and service was prompt, efficient and friendly. The pub has the busy bustling ambiance of an well patronised local venue.
