Enjoyed a lovely visit to The Olive Terrace at The Tulbagh Hotel last weekend. The owners and management have done such a brilliiant job in transforming this main street country hotel into an eatery of note making it one of the best places in Tulbagh to have a meal. I had the slow cooked lamb soup as a starter and my wife had the Springbok carpaccio. Both dishes were delicious. For mains, I had the crispy duck nasigoreng. Nasigoreng is one of my favourite dishes and this was a slightly different take on what I am used to. It was a lovely dish. My wife had the lamb rogan josh curry with sambals. We went back the following night to have their pizzas which are first class.Dear Kevin many thanks for your custom and your kind review. I like to try well known dishes and then give them a tweak. I agree with you the Nasi Goreng with crispy duck is very tasty. Hope to see you again soon. Alasdair

Such a wonderful 3 course dinner, amazing food, great wine selection and service. We ordered the asparagus starter, the lamb & mint phyllo pie which was absolutely amazing, the deliciously tender beef fillet with the crispiest roast potatoes. Dessert was the frozen choc mousse that we enjoyed so much that we ordered another portion to take away. Thank you Carol & team, we thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Readers, our favorite spot in Tulbagh!Dear Dani _ thank you for joining us at readers and for writing this awesome review - My menu does change and I try and source all the ingredients locally to keep the dishes seasonal using the freshest of ingredients - I hope to see you soon and travel safely Kind regards Carol

My friend group and I go for a Ceres/Tulbagh getaway each winter. Our first experience at Things I Love was in 2017 - we were terribly hungry and it looked so welcoming. Little did we know we would spend an hour and a half waiting for our food only for the pastas to be overcooked. A year later, we had received a voucher to Things I Love and we decided to give them the benefit of the doubt considering it was a full year later and everyone has bad days. And yet again, same situation; waited over 15 minutes to be asked our order, and thereafter waited over an hour for the food. Won't be giving them a try again.
