Big Ben

Big Ben is one of the biggest bars/restaurants on the pedestrian street in Tiberias, Sea of Galilee, Israel.

I've dined at Big Ben's on several occasions. I've ordered the fish (both St. Peter's and Denis; both were fresh and delicious), but this time we ordered simply: the large salads assortment, which is typical Arab-Israeli fare, with extra falafel, which Big Ben's makes especially well. The falafel is crisp, not soggy, and incredibly moist and almost green inside, filled with parsley and cilantro. Israeli pita is always fresh but Big Ben adds a little olive oil and toasts it for extra flavor. The salad assortment was abundant and absolutely delicious. It included two types of cabbage salads, carrot salad, eggplant, Turkish, felafel, hoummus, tahina...and a great assortment of beers. The Belgian ale (Leffe) was served icy cold on the hot night that we dined. And Omar made sure to feed the cats who are ubiquitous throughout Israel, looking for food, poor creatures.
