79 th on the Best restaurant in Tavira list???Good job Iâm writing this review in the hope it provides the turnaround and accolades that this fantastic Tapas restaurant deserves. Tapas for me has never been my favourite choice, until now. The menu and descriptions entice you to each and every selection, and believe me the execution and delivery did not disappoint. The cream of cod and shrimp with basil oil was divine, the pork cheek and mash exquisite, the apple and cinnamon crunch with ice cream- they were the standouts, but after five / six selections not only were we finished we sat there smiling. Great wine to accompany the food......all for 55 euros! Great value for money. Staff were super efficient and service was faultless. Come on T/A ....tell it as it really is!! This is a REAL GEM.

During my stay in Tavira, our group visited Terraze twice. The food was delicious on both occasions. We enjoyed the most tasty steak- cooked to perfection and seasoned well. The cod scored 10/10 for us. The duck was also delicious. Lovely atmosphere and great location. Well worth a visit!

In the historic area of Tavira, situated near the Castle, with a unique view over the beautiful city of Tavira. An exquisite space where we combine the best flavours with the freshest produce. Perfect for two, or with a group.
We have been to A Ver Tavira many times over the years but not recently. Based on other, recent reviews went for lunch expecting fresh food, nicely presented - but what a thoroughly disappointing experience we had. There was a good number of customers outside the restaurant so we opted to go on the terrace off the indoors. Our first impressionwas that the area was shabby, tables too close together and not as nice as I remembered. Our starters of garlic mushrooms and goatâs cheese bruschetta were ok, not great, a bit tasteless but ok.Our main courses were dreadful. I sent my tasteless, rubbery âhoney chickenâ back - it was served with over cooked, commercial wedges and a bit of lettuce and tomato. Instead I ordered a tuna wrap, it was ok - nothing special but edible. My husband was hungry so he ate his burger but said it was tasteless and again it was served with over cooked frozen wedges. There were several other issues, no condiments on the table, no couvert offered, we had to go into the restaurant and look for salt ourselves, the cutlery was not changed between courses, no one came to check if we needed anything, in fact other than the first glass we served ourselves our wine and water. We have had far better meals in the food court of our local supermarket not tomention other restaurants.Perhaps the kitchen staff were all out sick yesterday - who knows? But what we do know for sure is that our experience was light years away from the heady days of the old A Ver Tavira- where we went for special occasions and tasting menus. This new version is not somewhere we would to.

...in this restaurant and definitely not the last. We had a table in the back, which was nice and cozy. The service was quite attentive and discreet. We had âall you can eatâ and we were asked what we donât like so they know what they shouldnât prepare and serve. Very thoughtful. The service came with first dish and he explained all the dishes he brought us. It took some time to come with the 2nd and 3rd coarse, but then suddenly came the next three coarsest all together. We had peppermint leaves tea, which was very tasty. The food is very good. The sashimi was very tender. The sushiâs were simply delicious. We loved it here and will return soon.

Stopped here for a drink and was so impressed we returned for dinner. The food was excellent,we were tempted by bruschetta to start with, then a steak and a pasta dish , with amazing ice cream to finish. The staff were helpful and friendly and we didn't feel at all rushed despite many people trying to find a table. Definitely worth a visit, booking in advance advisable, so good we're going back again for our last night in Tavira

A little off the beaten track, but you'll find it was well worth the effort after enjoying our food.Outside dining in the summer months.Vegetarian and childrens menu available.Main courses between 7.50 - 12 euros.Daily specials of starters and maincourse.
I went into book a table and I was greeted by Fernando, who instantly recognised me from last year and asked "where is the girls?" - meaning my daughter and wife. He said no problem and I asked if my wife could get the garclic mushrooms that were not on the specials, not a problem. The clams and mushrooms to start were lovely. The mains were swordfish and a chicken / beef kebab - also perfect. No room for mains as we were so full.A jug of house red was inexpensive and very tasty. Thanks again!!!

We arrived at 9 pm on a Thursday- restaurant was very busy. Initially we were placed at a table indoors- it was very hot - they managed to move us outside. The bread/sardines were 6 euro and delivered without asking. Water was 2 euro. We shared burrata salad with spinach pears and walnuts. The burrata was excellent. Hubby had grilled octopus - compared to other restaurants it was average and the portion was small. The side salad had an amazing dressing. I had shrimp with garlic appetizer-it was very flavorful but shrimp were overcooked. We had a bottle of wine for 13euro. All together the dinner cost over $50 euro- our second most expensive meal in Tavira . Service was ok- not very friendly... I wont bother to go back. First of all we thank you for your opinion, because our goal is to always improve and we can only reach this objective based on feedback from our clients. We will be happy to welcome you again in our establishment.Best regards
