Makaron is one of the few fine dining options in Stellenbosch where you can go on a monday and we were glad to find this place. We both opted for the 5 course menu with wine pairing and food and wine were both very good. I like the concept of different small plates which you can combine to your liking (especially as I'm not a huge dessert fan). The dishes were creative, flavourful and well balanced, staff was very friendly and attentive and not too formal which helped to create a relaxed atmosphere.Dear 987Kat,We are so delighted that you found us, we are also opened on a Sunday night! The team is delighted that your enjoyed the concept of our small plates, as well as our relaxed service atmosphere.Looking forward to welcoming you again at Makaron very soon.Kind regardsKarine

Visited for lunch after a morning of tastings with food accompaniments a other wineries. Beautiful setting with panoramic views as well as the restaurant itself housing world class modern African art. Service was attentive. Food well prepared and beautifully presented. As we were not very hungry only had one main each. Would definitely go back for a more extended dining experience.

The Table at De Meye is a country style restaurant where you can expect to be seated at a table under the Oak trees. A set, three course, sharing style menu is served on platters in the middle of the table. Local, seasonal ingredients are sourced each wee
This is such an amazing and different place. Wonderful setting with tables set out under the trees, providing shade as well as privacy for each party. The food is excellent. No visible menu, so the food that arrives at the table for guests to share comes as a pleasant surprise. The atmosphere is relaxed and the staff friendly and attentive. One word of warning: check your bill before adding a gratuity. We were charged a 12% service fee for our table of four, whereas the website states that this will only be added for tables of six or more.

The restaurant at Jordan Wine Estate Stellenbosch did themselves proud last night, with a fabulous 5 course pure plant based dinner. The two mains, as seen, included herb infused quinoa with cruciferous vegetables, and stuffed zucchini on a bed of a delicious tomato puree, with smoked brussels and olives. The two starters included a veg wonton in a broth, with sprouts and shoots, and a pea puree base with beetroot in various guises. While the sorbet didn't live up to the indulgent heaven of the previous dishes, it did end the meal on a lighter note. My only negative is that at this point in history, pure plant based options shouldn't be a thing - why aren't they on the menu? (Anyone can eat plant based options, so one can easily ditch the vegetarian offering) Excellent service all round, and the pumpkin seed pesto with my breads was very good indeed!

George Jardine's relaxed, contemporary restaurant in the heart of Stellenbosch serving either a three course menu with choices, or a five course set menu.
This restaurant is really out of its class. The winter special is excellent value for money, and I would book again soon. The flavor and texture as well as the presentation makes this place a gem. Service is excellent, wine list is diverse with some very affordable wines on the menu. The ambiance is great and cozy seating with a fireplace in the background.

We visited this restaurant recently, it was an OK experience. The food was good, lamb & risotto. Our feeling was that the restaurant is trying a little too hard to be excellent. Atmosphere was not relaxed a little starchy. My wife and I shared a bottle of wine, which was kept on a table at the end of the room, so we had to wait for our waitress each time we needed a top up, which was odd. We expected more from our evening, but it is ok.
