We arrived during torrential rain and had a very welcoming maitre d'show us where to dry ourselves. We had to be seated indoors given the rain, however we still enjoyed the lovely view. Staff we excellent and friendly to our children. It is a very expensive restaurant but we were aware we are paying for a gorgeous view, decor and beautiful food.

This is a nice place to visit if you donât mind walking through the Youth Hostel to get to the rooftop bar and restaurant. The lift is tiny and one flight of stairs to the roof. You can sit inside or outside. You are a couple of houses back from a clear view, but still nice views of all the Towers. Service was good and food reasonable. Worth a visit and fairly popular, so maybe book in advance. Check the opening times before going

Aside from the delightful hostess and attentive staff that, even after a few days, remembered my preferred tea served with milk, this pretty space hosts a breakfast buffet that is outstanding in its range of choices by Western standards (my Chinese colleagues tell me that it is merely OK in terms of choices). But this auspicious location on the Bund in one of the most historic buildings along the riverfront is power breakfasting central in Shanghai. As impressed as I was with the staff's personal greeting each morning, I know my various Chinese breakfast guests made careful note of the personal greeting I received. That counts for a lot in China, both in terms of giving recognition to the establishment that cares for its patrons so well, as well as giving recognition to the clever host who chose the location and is so well known.

Only go there for the great view. The food is not good. I had the lobster bisque and the lamb and it both were really below average - this is mot acceptable when the prices are 30-40% higher than in other good restaurants in Beijing. Hubs and I thoroughly enjoyed our stop here. Classy place, Jazz @ 10 pm, and though pricey, well formulated drinks and great bar fare. The atmosphere was relaxing, service attentive, and a great place to kick back before heading back to our hotel. Will return for sure.
