Things to do in Reykholt
Restaurant with Local Icelandic products with a home cooking character and panoramic views to the valley.
Basically a lunch counter, they offered some basics and a nice cup of coffee. We got the lamb stew; some had a lot of lamb, some very little.
Riverside cafe & Bistro is a coffee shop in the heart of Selfoss. It is located next to/inside Hotel Selfoss. Great coffee, food, drinks and sweets. Perfect for families. Good wheelchair access and toilets. Welcome everyone.
After many hours in flight, car rental hell, and an hour in the car as we motors towards Vik, we lucked into this place. Sweet server, decent food, especially the fish and chips (ample, truly enough for 2)
Only one hour drive from ReykjavÃk, the restaurant at Fosshotel Hekla is ideal for travelers and locals alike. How about a dinner under the Northern lights? When the night is dark and the sky is clear-the area is ideal for spotting the spectacular lights
Our small (13) group stayed at Fosshotel Hekla and ate two dinner and breakfast here. The buffet style meals were very extensive for the room space and very good. Normally, I don't return for multiple trips for extras or additions at buffets, but here I did. Enjoy.

Arhus is located along the Ranga River, 100 km east of Reykjavik on the Ring road, Route 1. It is set in idyllic fields on the banks of the river. Restaurant Arhus serves a rich variety of local plates and global favourites. We also have a fully-stocked b
Having read the reviews, we were ready for the abrupt & sometimes rude behavior of the staff especially when they made a mistake in our order & accused us of making the error. But the food was good (especially lamb, fish and chips and duck) and prices were standard for an Icelandic restaurant. We met such friendly service in other restaurants itâs a shame the service doesnât meet the same standards as the food.

Grimsborgir Restaurant is situated directly at the famous Golden Circle tourist route in South Iceland. On our à la carte menu our guests will find traditional Icelandic dishes and international gourmet food, everything is freshly prepared from local prod
The restaurant is part of the Hotel Grimsborgir and also the location for a very good breakfast buffet. We had dinner and breakfast. Dinner is selected from a menu with a good selection of dishes including vegetarian. Local lamb, excellent local fish options and a selection of beef. A good selection of international wines and champagne but they come at âIcelandic pricesâ. Desert is also available including s cheese option. Staff is attentive and friendly. Since the nearest restaurant is quite a distance given the location of the hotel, many guests are having dinner in the restaurant. I would recommend to make a reservation for a table.

Kaffi-Sel operates a family owned restaurant, accommodation called Efra-Sel hostel and a 18 hole golf course. At the restaurant we offer vegan options, gourmet pizzas and burgers, salads, desserts and more. Everyone is welcome!
âVegan friendlyâ! My teen daughter was thrilled to read those words on the cover of the menu, which had all vegan dishes clearly labeled. The menu includes interesting pizzas, burgers, salads and more in a very open, airy and comfortable restaurant associated with a golf course. Thereâs not much out in Fludir, so this find was a real gem. My burger was delicious - all food was fresh and brought promptly. The ownerâs teen son (?) always had a smile on his face when he came to our table. Professional and friendly staff rounded out this dining experience - dinner on a rainy Tuesday night. Thanks for brightening our evening!

Pleasant casual restaurant with a tasty assortment of food. We saw mixed reviews but decided to check it out, and glad we did. I had the cod fish and chips (excellent) lunch special. The real surprise, for me, was horse on the menu. I sampled some and it was great! The manager was friendly, attentive and spoke very good English. Iâd eat here again.

We came here for lunch following our visit to Gullfoss on the Golden Circle route at a friendâs recommendation. We ordered the Langoustine Soup (2590 Kr) and the Langoustine Pizza (2995 Kr for 10â) and shared both. As we understand that they handmake their own chocolate, I also got the Hot Chocolate with whipped cream (750 Kr). Both the Langoustine Soup and Langoustine Pizza were decent and the langoustines were really fresh (but Iâd just been to Fjorubordid for langoustines two evenings before so itâs difficult to top that standard). The hot chocolate was also warm, creamy and sweet, which was perfect for a cold day. Service was good; polite, prompt and attentive.
