Food was terrible, alpaga was overcooked and hard to eat. Asked to the waiter about this incident and said: that was alpaga. Worst of all there was a mouse running between the tables. My friend ordered trout and it tasted frozen in the middle. We were offered a pisco sour free; there was no alcohol in the pisco just water. It was the worst dinner in Peru.

Despite being within the bustling streets of central Puno, this restaurant had a great atmosphere whilst being very relaxing. Service by Ignacio was attentive and friendly, and the food was delicious (particularly beef tenderloin with bacon and cheese WOW). Was very very busy, would definitely recommend...

Both the food & the service were excellent.Our waiter, Cesar, was both attentive & helpful with our choice of menu.Even though we had altitude sickness, we needed to eat & so chose simple dishes. Both the Creamy Squash Soup & the Rainbow Trout (local) with grilled vegetables were Delicious. CESAR ALSO EDUCATED US IN THE FACT THAT COCA TEA (A COMMON REMEDY FOR ALTITUDE SICKNESS) TAKEN AT NIGHT MAY ACT AS A STIMULANT & IT WOULD BE BETTER FOR US TO DRINK MUNA TEA - WHICH WE DID.

We had the Andean Salad, the duck with orange sauce and the lamb dish. Everything was excellent especially their coffee (which they also sell as coffee beans). Lovely aperitif of free pisco sour as well. Ambiance was very nice with ethnic decor and our waiter was very attentive. The Catedral restaurant is very close to the hotel we were staying at (Royal Inn), right at Plaza de Armas. We stopped here for dinner, It happened to be New Year's Day, so we were lucky to find a place open for business. Service was a little slow at the start, even though there were few customers. The waiter did not speak English, but the menu is in both Spanish and English.They offer a nice value meal consisting of a soup or appetizer, a main entree, and a beverage. I ordered the chicken soup, spaghetti with pesto sauce, and anise tea. Everything was very good, even though I'm not a big fan of herbal teas (I just wanted to try the anise tea).

This being the restaurant in the hotel where we were staying, we experienced both the buffet breakfast and one dinner. The restaurant is very roomy and clean. It also has a great view of Lake Titicaca. The buffet breakfast was typical for the high-end restaurants and had good choices of breakfast foods including eggs, meats, vegetables, fruits and drinks. For dinner, we experienced some good bread and we ordered chicken and lamb. It was quite good. They have nice deserts also. The food is expensive, especially when compared to what you could get in a nice restaurant in Puno, but this is supposed to be a luxury hotel.Dear Geotech:We are very pleased to have made your stay in our restaurant a gastronomic experience, we are always innovating for the satisfaction of our guests, receive from me and the food and beverage team a warm greeting for your words, this leads us to continue improving and thus continue to provide new experiences.Best regards

The flavours and presentation of our breakfast and dinner were very enjoyable. These were complemented by friendly, smiling and unobtrusive service at table.The discreet, courteous behaviour was most welcome. Most of our contact was with Luz who was a credit to herself and the hotel.
