Reviews on International food in Pondicherry, Union Territory of Pondicherry, India. Pondicherry’s bougainvilleas, crumbling cathedrals and leafy boulevards might occasionally make you wonder if you’re in the south of France instead of a former French colony. But it's also unmistakably Indian, with colorful festivals, the famous monument of Aayi Mandapam, and the Sri Aurobindo Ashram. Quiet beaches stretch north and south from town, good for swimming and sunrise strolls.

Nice cool new cafe on canal road between White Town and Black Town, towards the Muslim quarter, this cafe is not far from the heritage areas, and close to Cazy Street - worth checking out - and I like this cafe for the best cafe I've had in Pondicherry. Clean, stylish, modern, with a large menu including salads, international cuisine and local dishes, this has a hip bike theme, and friendly staff. Prices reasonable, and you can sit and look out at the world go by.

Topping my list of favourites in Pondicherry would be the HOTEL DE L'ORIENT on Rue Romain Rolland, which remains true to its Neemrana non-hotel ethic in its sublimely atmospheric CARTE BLANCHE courtyard restaurant. I honestly couldn't decide which I liked
The restaurant "looked" great & had the French colony feel, so we thought of trying it out for dinner. The ambience was nice & wasn't too crowded. We ordered just 2 dishes & it took them forever to come. We asked the waiter several times & they kept saying its on the way. Finally, when the food did arrive, we were disappointed as the taste was too bad. The meal was undercooked. We then complained & but they still billed us for that. All in all, a very bad experience, especially at night. We slept empty stomach that day!

We had a great experience for lunch here when we visited this hotel one afternoon in June 2019 for some authentic Tamil food. We had vegetarian items and several dishes we had were outstanding. Valaipoo vadai starter and cucumber-mint drink were great to start with. Idyapppam with stew and vadacurry with appam were good main course items. Overall a great afternoon made special by the staff who took good care.

Unique cafe in set in a French art-deco house, featuring works of local and European contemporary artists. Serves one the best French and Continental food in town, with free wi-fi.
The highlight here is clearly the setting: sitting and eating in an interior courtyard shaded by trees. It's peaceful and provides some rest from the heat. As for the menu, you'll have the opporrunity to eat good quality meals, mostly Western. The créole salad is excellent as well as the Artika special fresh juice (coconut water with ginger, lemon and mint).

We bake delicious authentic Italian pizzas with homemade ingredients that are freshly prepared in our kitchen everyday. Our pizzas go up up to three feet in size and have very very generous servings of cheese and toppings. We give you the best value for m
The place must have been good at some time in the past,, that probably explains the rush to find a table in a restaurant so big spread over three floors... we waited for nearly 45 minutes to get a table... that too after shouting because the person checking the waiting list was allowing groups after us to break the que... the service was that bad.. anyways after the entry the waiting for the food was again another 45 minutes.. once we were told there were no shakes as the ice had run out.. but after five minutes we saw the person at the counter making shakes.. after we pointed this out they took our order for shakes !!! the food was ok but surely not worth the long wait and the efforts to find a table,, pls look for other places which I am sure good food,,

This place is a must visit for those love smoothies and cold pressed juices. They have a wide and innovative range of options for both. I had the'nutties affair' which was delicious. Not cheap but reasonably priced for the product they offer. Nice cosy ambience.

As with all CGH Earth hotels, local sourcing makes for variety and freshness. This is particularly true of our sea food at Palais de Mahe. Our chefs personally select the day's serving from the incoming boats at the harbor nearby, planning their recipes a
Nice ambience on a rooftop outside terrace but service poor (waited ages for an order to be taken and then for the food to arrive) and when it did it was just average. Would not return. Villa Shanti and La Villa much better.Dear GuestWe would like to convey our gratitude for your worthy review on our place.Apologies the dinning experience didn't meet up the standards.Made a note of your concern, would amend accordingly. Please visit us again and try our other destinations as well.RegardsJohnson AntonyRestaurant ManagerPalais de Mahe

An experience not to be forgotten. An evening in Shyamaâs home and kitchen. Not only did we watch her make 6 or 7 dishes, she had prepared several other dishes in addition which were fabulous. Far too much to eat.Cleanliness and organisation superb. We sat down for an amazing selection of Indian cuisine. Excellent hospitality and Shyamaâs knowledge of Indian cooking was unlimited, not to mention her charming disposition. If you are a foodie, a place not to miss if you are in Pondicherry.
