The restaurant is in a converted, historic building (a bank?), and easily accessible from both the tourist area of Otaru and the station. We have eaten here twice (once in the depths of last winter's snow and again just last month) - both times for a largish family group evening meal. A range of different types of food were ordered, everybody was pleased. The food was well-prepared, promptly served, and delicious. Service was friendly and efficient. Would recommend eating here. Souvenirs and wine-tasting are also available here, but we have not tried them.

We were told by the locals that this is a very popular eating place in Otaru. It took us a short while to find the place, as it is a short distance from the popular tourist spots in Otaru. Fortunately, we were driving and we were ok. We found a small shop in a very quiet and dark alley. When we went in, there were no other customers. It is a small shop, can only seat about 10-12 customers (bar-counter type). The boss (who is also the Chef and the Service Staff) can speak simple English. After we sat down, two other groups of customers came. Luckily, we came first. The menus were on the wall. ï¼·e asked for his recommendation. We can tell that he is a very simple and sincere guy. As this is a one-man operation, we had to wait for a while for our food, but we did not mind at all. We had some leftover wine in our car and asked him if he mind if we drink it in his shop. He did not mind and even offered us glasses. We love his hospitality. There are many handmade small handicraft in his shop, which customers can purchase at a very small price if they like. We like the food. Fresh ingredients and simple. Style? Japanese western style. Would recommend this place.
