Reviews on International food in Norfolk Island, Australia. At first glance, it’s hard to believe that vibrant Norfolk Island could have a dark past. Yet during the 19th century, the now-peaceful Australian retreat was a convict colony, home to criminals who’d been banished into exile. Today, the archaeological remains of the penal colony have UNESCO World Heritage status and are revered for their historical significance. You can visit the settlement’s remains, an eerie yet beautiful collection that includes a jail, a cemetery, lumbar yard and salt house.

While visiting Norfolk Island with family, we stumbled on this wonderful restaurant and cafe. There was 10 of us in the group and the staff easily catered for us by putting tables together outside in the garden area and we ordered tea/ coffee and scones for morning tea. The tea and coffee was excellent and honestly weâve never tasted better scones! They were huge serves with lovely whipped cream and a beautiful home made jam. The scones were so light and fluffy and the flavour was perfect. We had heard such great reviews about their meals but unfortunately it was our last day and we didnât get time to go back. Highly recommend and if we visit Norfolk again, this restaurant will be on the top of the list!

I wasn't quite sure what to expect here. We went in intending to just have coffee and a bite, but ended up eating lunch because we couldn't resist the tasty treats on offer! Thankfully we beat the crowds, as it seems popular with tourists and locals alike.

This beautifully restored house is the centrepiece at Governor's Lodge offering gorgeous surrounds, fine cuisine, Chef's specials and a dining experience to always remember. What a perfect place to enjoy lunch floating on the original flagstone verandah.
Only open for 3 nights whilst we were staying at the Governors Lodge so only dined here once. Very nice, good sized meals & reasonnably priced. Loved the happy hour prior to dining here. On arrival offered a complimentary champagne which we enjoyed before having our yummyToblerone.
