On a hot hot day in Germany I was not looking forward to eating with a group of friends at at a local restaurant, outside was going to be hot and humid and inside was going to be worse, I could not win. I went and to my suprise was delighted that outside was delightful in a garden environment with umbrellas, and inside was cool and equally as well decked out for comfort and 'home' feel without feeling stuffy and unwelcoming... Further, the salad bar was as fresh as you could get, BIO I suspect, and the feature of Thursday nights - all you can eat spare ribs was not what I thought at all., but instead, delivered with panache and much aplomb - no fat, beautifully grilled and suspect smoked before and the meat fell off the bone. All this for E7.50 .. couldnt believe it... I didnt order spare ribs, I had schnitzel and a couple of glasses of delightful white german riesling, from the table of 6 of us, each of us spent average Euro$15 including deserts, wine or beer and food., all food including a fish main, a schnitzel main, ribs all you can eat and a chicken nugget main ! Unbelievable value for the price. The waitress was delightful and informative and on the night an offer of complimentary voucher to a local cruise was allocated to the youngest at the table to enjoy at a later date ! What more could one ask for.,

It has a very nice atmosphere and very good food. It's a romanian restaurant with romanian and german food too. During the weekend they are making food outside especially romanian ones. We will go back definitely :)

After a stroll around the Hattsteinweiher pond, we were up for a hearty lunch, but the three of us could not decide what type of cuisine we were collectively in the mood for. Fortunately, Lava Restaurant was just a few hundred meters down the road from Hattsteinweiher Park. It is a great little restaurant catering to every taste with exquisite, reasonably-priced eclectic cuisine. I had a hankering for Schnitzel... any kind of Schnitzel... so I ordered Jaegerschnitzel smothered in creamy mushroom sauce. Loved every bite of it! My wife and cousin ordered Mediterranean pasta dishes, and they were equally pleased as well. The restaurant in situated in the front end of The Usingen Tennis Club amidst the beautiful countryside of Hattsteinweiher Park. There is plenty of parking and room for a post-Mittagessen Spaziergang to walk off some of the calories from a delicious meal. The restaurant is family-owned and hands-on in the operation of the restaurant. Needless, to say, the owner and the staff will bend over backwards to oblige the patrons. If you ever find yourself in the gorgeous hills and forests of Taunus, I wholeheartedly recommend a meal at Lava Restaurant! And if there in mid-May, please sample their Asparagus season menu.

My wife and I are retired Canadian professionals living in Frankfurt for 18 months. Today, between Christmas and New Years Eve, it was overcast and foggy and wet, and we decided to explore the narrow cobblestone streets of the incredibly beautiful little towns of Kronberg and Konigstein, with their timeless estate/residences. We had made reservations at Miro's (highly recommended) because we assumed, rightly, that the local residents would be a good gastronomical influence! Miros is located on a hillside overlooking the valley below. The exterior is unassuming; the interior is very nicely decorated, warm and welcoming, with linen tablecloths. The owner himself seated us at a table with a view.If readers look at the comments on the attached photos, they will see why we were so delighted with the meal. The flavours and presentation were excellent. The ambience is such that families will enjoy dining, as well as couples looking for a memorable experience. (Why dine at other fine restaurants where the stuffy, stiff formality creates gastric ulcers?)The cost of the meals is entirely reasonable for the high quality and absolute professionalism. We will be back again to explore the menu. Bravo Mirwais!Thank you very much! You have to come back on a sunny day to take a look out of our windows an to see the great panorama. And of course, to explore the menu.We are looking forward to see you, kind regardsMiro

I've been to the restaurant twice. First time I was alone in summer. Had a dreadful convenience food schnitzel and promised myself never to go back again. Second time I was with a group. Ordered pizza, because I didn't trust anything else on the huge menu. The pizza was over prized, rather greasy but still eatable, Around the table heard complained that the meat they ordered was over baked. In general I had the impression that the restaurant has an identity crisis (not real Italian-, German- or other cuisine).
