Find out what International restaurants to try in Netanya. Netanya (Hebrew: נְתַנְיָה, lit., "God gave"; Arabic: نتانيا) is a city in the Northern Central District of Israel, and is the capital of the surrounding Sharon plain. It is 30 km (18.64 mi) north of Tel Aviv, and 56 km (34.80 mi) south of Haifa, between the 'Poleg' stream and Wingate Institute in the south and the 'Avichail' stream in the north. We came from Jerusalem to have a pleasant dinner near the lovely boardwalk of Netanya. I had read reviews which were fair, so we didn't have extremely high expectations, but what awaited us was far worse. It wasn't the food (which was mediocre at best, except for the fish which was slightly better), it was the service which was, in a word, horrible. It started with the fact that we ordered first courses and main courses at the same time, making it very clear to the waiter that we did NOT want everything to be served at the same time.Within a few moments a new waiter came out who brought everything. (That was part of the awful service; we had 8 different people waiting on us, none of whom could get it right). So we sent back the main courses, and he looked at us like we were nuts. We also ordered two glasses of dry white wine, which came out very warm...All the first courses were overly oily and spicy. A few minutes later, another waiter appeared with the main courses (we hadn't finished the first courses) and again there was a repeat of the previous scene. The dessert episode was even worse: no ice cream "allowed" on its own! I will spare all the details of waiting 35 minutes for an inedible, unbaked pie and -finally- three scoops of ice cream. Even the manager's offer of a free dinner wouldn't get us back there, ever.Save yourself heartache- don't go.

This is truely worth going off of Highway 6 10 minutes. tucked in behind Moshav Be'erotayim, this small kosher restaurant is a feast for the eyes as well as the palate. We were invited to a small family gathering (only 70 people) and enjoyed a large selection of Italian specialties not usually seen on a menu. The arrancini (suppli) were very well made and tastey with a light cream sauce but the star of the place must be the beetroot gnocchi in a light cream sauce with a taste of nutmeg. The best thing I've had for a while! What is an added bonus is the atmosphere- a barn full of antiques and they are all for sale! The place is cosy and the service better than most city restaurants.
Having seen numerous advertisements for this restaurant, decided to see the place. At lunch time it was fully packed, and being single, was offered the only free high stool on the bar. The lunch menu is not extensive and after waiting for some time a busy waiter took my order. I opted for their business lunch menu that included their much acclaimed signature dish, the "artburger".. sorry for the spoiler at this stage, but it has been the farthest thing from what I have expected, and that's after rather lengthy wait, over 20 minutes, for an item which the diner is supposedly specializing in. It came practically with nothing, aside of few poor looking lettuce leaves and a salad in a separate bowl. The burger was tasteless, just a piece of chopped meat tucked between two parts of a sliced dry bun. The vegetables, coarsely cut, have seen better days, and the few small pieces of fried cauliflower, the "appetizer", were drenched in an obscure sauce. In short, a meal hastily put together, without the slightest attention to either flavor or appearance. If you add to it the indifferent and casual service, the value for money at INS 68 is low. period. There are quite a few places around in which one can get a decent meal for same amount, without the unnecessary "hula balloo" on the internet.
