On our recent trip to Cadzand, we did a bit of car touring on a rainy Tuesday. Many restaurants and shops were still closed as it was the end of February. We arrived at this restaurant and only a few people were inside. The waitstaff was friendly and attentive, but our fish and chips took almost 30 minutes to get come to us. Not sure what took so long since the place was virtually empty. The IPA and fish were yummy. We were glad to be warm and dry with full bellies.
Youngest 10 was bursting for loo, daddy beer? The five of us enjoyed a drink on here and had I been alone would have stayed for more Great pub bar , brews own beer also , dark interior full of curiosities everywhere, loved the crates of beer on ceiling , great bar, external seating too, loved it.

A very homely place for breakfast, bagels and tosti's. Of course we also have a nice selection of beers and ciders plus the best coffee in town! There are also 2 nice rooms in our Bed & Breakfast where you'll feel right at home. Hope to see you in our caf
As a couple of neighbours we visited "le Penseur" last Thursday for the first time (and I went a day later again): the owner turned the place over after "de Schuur" was closed for several years from an old an smelly dump to some more contemporary café.The barman plays vinyl records, says he likes blues, but Friday he luckily showed a wider interes in music ;-)The bar has more than 35 beers in stock, 4 on draught. Excellent collection and good information. Maybe he will soon have some Kees! beers in stock...Think I will come back here soon for a sip of his latest catch in craftbeers.

First off...nice setting and 4 wines out of 4 were great (not something we have often found in Dutch restaurants) so definitely worth going there for the wine.I would give the restaurant food a miss though. Expensive for what you get (apparently main courses are entree sized so you can try more of them) and most of the food was pretty average with my langoustines being inedible. They were kind enough to bring me a second langoustine when i suggested the first was overcooked but this one was even less pleasant. So overall...reliable wine, food less so

Situated at the Railwaystation of Middelburg, Stoom has a vintage look and feel. It is specialised in durabilaty and organic food. You will find a large choice of vegan options at low prices.
Grabbed a few coffees and drinks before catching the train to Rotterdam. I liked the fact they had a large choice of healthy food, from raw bars to smoothies and fancy iced green teas.Service is fast and friendly, prices are adequate for a train station.

My last evening in Middelburg and I wanted something a little more âformal.â I wandered around downtown Middelburg looking for interesting options. I walked down a side street and came across Desafinado. A quick look at the menu suggested I had found an interesting place. I didnât have a reservation but, apparently, a lot of people who did have reservation hadnât shown up so I was able to get a seat immediately. The restaurant appears to be situated in an older house. The main dining room downstairs has a homey feel. There arenât a lot of tables but they also arenât all crushed together. As with many places like this there was a short bar as well. After sorting out which beer I preferred I perused the menu. Several interesting starters were available but I went with the beef carpaccio. For the entrée I actually had a âfishâ salad that had many seafood items present. The food was delicious and quite reasonably priced in my opinion. I enjoyed the meal and it was exactly what I was looking for. Recommended.

My friend took me here without telling me what was so special about this place. It looked very inviting in bright colours and comfortable seating. Service very quick and friendly, prices reasonable. Food delicious, menu card adequate. Only halfway through the meal was I told that most of the staff is mentally handicapped; she blew me away! Only one mistake was made (wrong wine), but quickly corrected. Outdoor seating in busy car-less street, blankets provided. Inside more comfortable in this time of the year. Highly recommended!

We had a light supper at Vriendschap on a cold dark night. We ordered shrimp bisque and a Tom Ka with bean sprouts and other veggies in it. Both soups were delicious. My bottle of Zeeland apple juice was so unusually delicious that my wife had to order a bottle for herself. The lust for new flavors got the better of us, and we ordered some shrimp kroket which were also delicious. The wait staff were helpful and polite, and food arrived reasonably promptly. One delightfully charming staff member chatted with us when we found out she was from Indonesia. Vriendschap was the most memorable restaurant that we visited in Middelburg, and we recommend it very highly for atmosphere, friendliness, taste, and value.Hello dear Staidthere,Thank you so much for your nice review. It makes us shine! We hope to see you again,Kind regards and all the best,Connie

This place is just so cool. I love bookstores and in the middle of this store they have a cafe.I had a salad which was tasty and fresh. It's always very busy so it's not a romantic place to eat at.It's maybe a little unusual to have a good place in a bookstore but try it out when being in Middelburg.I go here every time I'm in Zeeland, it has become tradition. This bookstore has not only a cafe to offer but also tons of books, Magazins, board games, and much much more. It's location is on the Markt place.

Not perfect but still wonderful! We had a very nice evening at this gourmet restaurant. The service was nice, the lady tried real hard to explain things in english and to make our dinner as perfect as possible.I love the ambiance. And I adore the dessert. Ok, Im pretty impressed for the things we got and the money we spent on it.The location isnt as center as I expected but still acceptable as its still withing walking distance from the towncenter.
