The restaurant La Piazzetta is located in the heart of Argegno, and it is the result of the cohesion between tradition and innovation. Our chief aim is the satisfaction of our clientele. First and foremost, here you can find simple dishes, top-notch produ
My friend and I stopped in one evening while in Argegno for just a desert and coffee having been out that day touring Bellagio and already having a feast of a lunch. We were drawn into La Piazzeta by a gentleman who we observed throughout the hour we were there greeting visitors walking by hoping to use his charm to lure them into the establishment. We asked before hand if it was OK to just have a coffee and desert since we already had a large lunch and we were told that it would be fine. There were only a few tables occupied when we arrived. We were promptly seated outside hoping to people watch, but the large planters surrounding the outdoor seating area blocked the view of the small plaza. We proceeded to order a cuppachino, coffee americano, water and two tiramisu. PLEASE NOTE - this review is less about the quality of food served then it is about the value of what you get and their business practices. The rating of the tiramisu was a toss up...one person thought it OK the other person thought it tasted like it was a few days old. The real shocker came when the bill arrived.... 27 Euros !!! For so little food and drink I can only imagine what one would be paying for dinner !!! You better bring 100s of Euros if you donât want to end up washing dishes to pay off your debt. How can one justify a service charge of 6 Euros for two people to just sit down for basically a cup of coffee ??? Better to drive down to Como and sit out on the glorious roof top of the Como Hilton and enjoy the same, but better quality deserts , for less money along with AMAZING music and views.... and you can charge your bill !!!Thatâs right, adding insult to injury...we were informed that we could not charge the bill to our credit card because ..â the machine was brokenâ ..... please.... how old a line is this for establishments to avoid paying the small credit card fee. Why not just post a sign in front of your restaurant clearly saying.... CASH ONLY ? That way guests can decide whether to eat there BEFORE sitting down.Lastly.... I had to laugh when the bill arrived . Along with the bill there was a printed card in Italian ...which I was unable to translate but it had TripAdvisor in bold letters.....Iâm assuming it was a card encouraging guests to submit reviews ...the owner clearly understood the power of Trip Advisor in guiding customers in their dining decision. All I can say is.... look elsewhere if you seek quality dining with value pricing and service. Remember, reviews from customers who enter seeking just a coffee and desert should matter just as much as customers coming in for a three course meal.

Terzo Crotto is a delightful restaurant serving traditional dishes that are fresh and tasty. We had steak Florentine for 2 that was absolutely delicious. Thereâs a very relaxed atmosphere that is warm and inviting without being noisy. Good wine list.

We had the most incredible experience here at Hotel GLAVJC! Let's start with our arrival. We took Malpensa Express then the Bus to Como Lago Nord then another to Torno. We unfortunately got off the bus a little too soon and found a local Bar to sit and have coffee while we figured out how to call a taxi. The young woman at the counter told me the taxis were only in Como - we were in the town of Torno so NO taxi service. When she asked where we were staying and I mentioned GLAVJC she immediately picked up the phone and I heard her say Angelo - ok cinque minuti! We were shocked to hear that Angelo from the hotel was coming to get us in his own car! How kind is that???!!!In truth the hotel is very accessible by public transportation with a bus just outside. You can ride into Como for 1 euro! Easy once you know where you are going! Our triple room was VERY comfortable and clean with a huge balcony and the most amazing view! There were 2 parts to the room each with a tv and a refrigerator. The bathroom had a shower and was very clean. The FOOD here is fabulous! I have posted photos of lunch and dinner - far beyond what I expected. The bistecca fiorentina was the BEST meal of my trip in Italy this year. Surprising considering it was here in Torno but yet that is the truth. Breakfast was also very very good. The STAFF is welcoming and wonderful. Angelo went out of his way for us. Osvaldo was our server for lunch and dinner. He found out I liked Adriano Celentano (musician/ actor/ singer) and made a CD for me of his music - and played it for us whenever we ate there. He was so sweet and helpful! One night there was a thunderstorm so the lights went out while we were in the dining room waiting for dinner. Osvaldo brought us candles. It was truly the most spectacular view- watching the lightning over Lake Como. Dinner by candlelight was my favorite. The other young man who works at the hotel was also so accommodating. I don't remember his name but he is originally from Turkey and has worked at GLAVJC for a long time. So sweet. The three of us were so pleased with everything here. Including the price. For the view, the food, the welcoming service - we feel the price was an excellent value. I would not specifically book Como again but next year, God willing, I will book this hotel just to have lunch and dinner here and enjoy the view. It's truly that good.

Dinner for 4 turned out to be a nice evening. Seating is very nice along the water - service is friendly and prompt. Starters and main courses look appetising and turned out to be good. Wines are priced correctly. The risotto was very good. The local fish fritata was less impressive. The tuna main course was excellent. Unfortunately, 2 of us who had the very tasty beef tartare as starter, got sick so we suspect that the raw meat was perhaps not in order.

âThe Hotel Restaurant Fioroni is in Carate Urio, a small picturesque town on Como Lakeâs shores. The history of the Fioroni family is related with lake and tourism, work and the daily care to serve the customers in the best way. The business started in 19
This restaurant is centrally located in Carate Urio - a perfect stroll away from our holiday apartment. We visited twice and enjoyed the friendly welcome and atmosphere. We enjoyed pasta dishes and the veal - all cooked and presented very well. And, the highly recommended tiramisu was magnifico! Giuseppe and staff were very welcoming and it was fairly good value for money. The restaurant was quite busy on both evenings with a good atmosphere. Well worth a visit if staying in Carate Urio.
