Old is Gold kind of place ,with a history to beat and a variety on the table for differing tastes. Many of my visits would be for the achievement of the topics ,perfectly timed to catch the fresh buns out of the kiln. Of recent there has been a revamp of the old building to give it a more touristy feel but the effect has added to the quality rather than opposite. Mostly patronized by middle aged men ,in for the umpteenth time from the nearby mosque ,offices etc.

Had a leisurely and peaceful stay at Don's Lounge and Villa which is just five minutes walk from Kandy Lake, close to major attractions such as Kandy City Centre and the Temple of the Sacred Tooth.I enjoyed a great birthday weekend here with excellent service from the friendly staff, especially Manoj, Irfan and Anushka. They made sure we had transport when we requested and everything was perfect ! They also introduced us to their cute resident pet kitty named Vodka ! It's a peacful getaway for those searching for a fuss free stay with all modern amenities that doesn't break the bank ... My bedroom was nice and spacious and very comfy !A special mention for the breakfast which was super healthy with a platter of cut fruit and fruit juice along with the continental breakfast. It costs Rs 500 per day.We took our lunch from outside as we were busy exploring the city and the lake is only five minutes away. Perfect for those who like exploring by foot.Will defintely come back here as the location is very good, 15 minutes walk to Kandy City Centre and very close to major hotels such as OZO and Suisse.

We went here for lunch on advice of our guide.We opted for the lunch buffet.There were many options for starters, soup, salad, bread, we had some salad which was good.From the buffet we had the rice with vegetables, good, and the red rice, which was too dry.One of the chicken dishes was a bit dry, as was the pork roast.All the other dishes like chicken curry, dahl curry, vegetables etc were very good and tasty.A good choice of deserts, fruits, cakes, mousses, etc. all very good.Friendly service. Nice view over the city from the terrace.The price of the buffet was 6,50 euro per person, including service and tax. A diet coke 2 euro. We went here for the cricket. It was our first night before the masses arrived. We had very good and reasonably priced food and drink. The service was very good even though the food actually comes from the hotel upstairs. The staff were very polite and the air conditioned pub a welcome relief. So why not a 5? Well we went the following day at 8.30pm to be told the place was shut. It was actually full of others eating and drinking and so this was obvioulsy a lie. I dont think we would have been upset if they had just said it was full ( it wasnt) it was just the ' its shut' comment

Food was amazing. Service was amazing. Restaurant was neat and tidy. Prices are moderate. Kind and friendly staff. I recommend this to everyone living/visiting Kandy, who is looking for a cheap and reasonable meal!!!!

We unfortunately didnât stay here but chose the Kandy House for dinner after looking around the internet. The surroundings and lighting are superb. We sat on the lawn for a pre dinner drink and then were served a medley of curries. Great food, great service, and worth the slightly lengthy taxi journey.
