Things to do in Kandy
Old is Gold kind of place ,with a history to beat and a variety on the table for differing tastes. Many of my visits would be for the achievement of the topics ,perfectly timed to catch the fresh buns out of the kiln. Of recent there has been a revamp of the old building to give it a more touristy feel but the effect has added to the quality rather than opposite. Mostly patronized by middle aged men ,in for the umpteenth time from the nearby mosque ,offices etc.

The Last Drop Pub & Restaurant located in the centre of the Kandy city. Restaurant style is from quick service to midscale and upscale. The Pub and restaurant is affiliated to Kandy City Hotel managed by Earl's Court Group and all are welcome to feel the
We went here for the cricket. It was our first night before the masses arrived. We had very good and reasonably priced food and drink. The service was very good even though the food actually comes from the hotel upstairs. The staff were very polite and the air conditioned pub a welcome relief. So why not a 5? Well we went the following day at 8.30pm to be told the place was shut. It was actually full of others eating and drinking and so this was obvioulsy a lie. I dont think we would have been upset if they had just said it was full ( it wasnt) it was just the ' its shut' comment

The best Rice & curry I ever had was at Mlesna Tea Fortress Restaurant. It had more than 7 dishes of curries accompanies with Steam Rice. Served with Pappadam & Chutney to add to the taste. Staff are really quick to serve and very helpful. An ideal stop over place when you are rushing towards Kandy for a good quick meal. If they can increase the seating it will be ideal.

Dining for non hotel guests BY RESERVATION & ON AVAILABILITY ONLY. The Kandy House boutique hotel which is a unique ancestral manor house (Walauwa) providing seclusion and serenity for its guests in a lush, tropical garden setting, close to Kandy.
We unfortunately didnât stay here but chose the Kandy House for dinner after looking around the internet. The surroundings and lighting are superb. We sat on the lawn for a pre dinner drink and then were served a medley of curries. Great food, great service, and worth the slightly lengthy taxi journey.

This restaurant is set behind a house, but is quite well known because it's had some magazine coverage. We just ordered their curry and rice set (recommended by both our driver and the waiter) and you really do get a good selection of little bowls put on your table so you can try a variety of foods. It's good basic Sri Lankan food, though the spice is a bit tempered for tourists.

We went here for lunch on advice of our guide. We opted for the lunch buffet. There were many options for starters, soup, salad, bread, we had some salad which was good. From the buffet we had the rice with vegetables, good, and the red rice, which was too dry.One of the chicken dishes was a bit dry, as was the pork roast. All the other dishes like chicken curry, dahl curry, vegetables etc were very good and tasty.A good choice of deserts, fruits, cakes, mousses, etc. all very good.Friendly service. Nice view over the city from the terrace. The price of the buffet was 6,50 euro per person, including service and tax. A diet coke 2 euro. Very good value for money.Dear Valued Guest,Thank you very much for taking time to review us and your feedback is priceless for us.We are keen to maximize the quality of our food and service and the comments like yours encourage us indeed.Thank you repeatedly!Neranjan Vilane
