Reviews on International food in Isle of Wight, England, United Kingdom. The Isle of Wight is the perfect place to enjoy some peace, quiet and natural beauty. Except perhaps in the summer, when the Isle of Wight Festival draws visitors from all over the world. In 1970, the Festival was the largest rock-music event ever held. It was called Britain's Woodstock and featured Jimi Hendrix and The Who. (Not so much peace or quiet that week.) The island is also known for its world-famous sailing and lovely resorts, where people have been vacationing since Victorian times.

Good atmosphere but the food is a bit naff. You would expect a restaurant that is on the beach would serve fresh fish, but no I got a reheated frozen triangle piece of fish with frozen peas. Chips looked fresh though

It is a restaurant in it's own right , without the hotel - a majority of bookings are from locals & non-residents
After two excellent meals elsewhere in Cowes, I wasnât expecting anything special in a hotel restaurant, but we thoroughly enjoyed our dinner and the friendly and efficient service that brought it to us. My ham hock terrine starter and seafood pasta main were each tasty, well cooked and a generous portion. Prices are reasonable. A good dining experience.Dear NicholasThank you so much for your comments we really appreciate them. We are so glade you enjoyed your experience with us at the New Holmwood Hotel in our restaurant. I will pass your remarks onto our team and look forward to welcoming you back in the near future.Best regardsJulian

Came across Cantina purely by chance, looking for shelter on a very wet morning in Ventnor. Ducked in to ask if they were dog-friendly, and thankfully they were. Really wished we hadn't eaten breakfast beforehand - because I would have LOVED to have eaten there. The food on the tables all around us looked and smelt DIVINE. Enjoyed some delicious coffee though. The service was wonderful (the two of us - plus our four-legged friend were made to feel very welcome) and the place has such a lovely ambience/vibe. Next time we're in Ventnor we'll be going back there for sure, but this time with empty tummies!

Iâve visited the Artisan since 20 July and have met Jamie, Lynette, Angus, Ben, Rob and Anthony as the bar staff. Anthony served me my first ever Artisan coffee last Sunday. The atmosphere is outstanding.I have met Jamie most often out of the staff, who, like the other staff is very accommodating to customersâ individual needs, who provide a warm welcome to me and other customers.I also made my first ever visit to the Upstairs part of the Artisan on 28 September which Iâd not got around to visiting before last Saturday where they have an additional bar and seating. The Artisan also holds live music.I have varied having one or more soft cold and hot drinks to one or more drinks and a meal, and staying for a few minutes through to an hour or longer, depending on the occasion in question, but whatever the duration, I always arrive and leave feeling happy at the Artisan. The Artisan has many alcoholic drinks including cocktails, as well as soft drinks including an exquisite orange juice from freshly squeezed oranges, and a separate fizzy orange juice drink, plus specialist rhubarb and separately apple drinks among the wide variety of drinks they sell.At my most recent visit, Lynette and Jamie were on duty. On this occasion, Jamie took my order at the bar counter and also delivered my fish & chips meal to my table (an excellent size portion of both) where I watched and listened to a Jazz trio performing to my right at the far end of the downstairs (entrance) room.Wow thankyou for your fantastic review, it really is much appreciatedAnthony

Smart venue with stunning panoramic views across the sea and light, New England-style decor with modern European cuisine.
Went for dinner - had window by veranda doors which were open and overlooking The Solent which was gorgeous. Food really good but what we received wasn't necessarily as per the listed menu item e.g. Scallops starter was perfectly cooked but came without Asparagus spears and I ordered the mussels with red Thai broth, chilli and spring onion but got a more classic moules mariniere with bacon and onion. However the mussels were cooked to perfection, plump and juicy and a large portion so I wasn't overly annoyed. Mackerel on the bone was extremely good - large fish and again perfectly cooked. Wine list small but more than adequate - I recommend the Picpoul white. Serving staff were lovely and attentive.

It is a very elegant restaurant, cute outside and very cosy inside, tables are very posh and accurately dressed with silver cutlery, the atmosphere is enchanting, music volume is soft and tracks are perfect. Food is delicious. Fish was fresh and tasty. Staff is polite and welcoming. Inside the toilet there are proper cloth hand towels, to dispose inside a basket and there is a perfume too! The best restaurant on the Isle of Wight!Wow! That's a fantastic review! Thank you very much!
