Good food & good beer is what Belgie is all about. 20 taps and a huge bottle selection of international beers.
extensive bottled belgian list and a good tap list of at least 20 beers, many unusual. Great bar tender, who of course spoke immaculate English and was very helpful. Handful of locals outside were initially sort of intimidating but they provided some entertainment. Didn't get any food, but didn't want any. Was there strictly for the beer. Weirdquirky decor - plastic snakes hanging off the lights and a large shark on the wall. But if you like Belgians, this is a good place to visit.

From experience we know the chef Mike Klein is a good cook. Several times we had dinner in his previous restaurant, Proeverij de Heerlijckheid in Leerdam. But Mike decide to step it up. He moved to De Middenhof, an old farmhouse and he created a totally different concept. Pancake reastaurant for the family events, a bistro and for those who were ready for some splurging: a restaurant. We were again in the restaurant and had a great time. The amuse was nice, lobster newburg in a small breaded fried ball. The next course concerned gamba's for my partner and foie gras for myself. Excellent quality and well presented. The sweet wine wine was a welcomed partner of the foie gras.We both made a choice for the venison filet. Again a splendid dish. Great flavor, great sauce and the way the mushrooms were prepared was wonderful. An undertone of garlic but you could still taste the mushrooms. Asparagus were outstanding. According to my partner, and she knows a thing or tow about this vegetable, one of the best she ever had.Service was good again, extra sauce: no problem; more bread and butter, within no time it is on your table. And then the wine. Mike knows we like older wines and once again he managed to come up with a nice 1988 Haut Medoc. Do we have to repeat we had a great night. If you want they offer great desserts but we had enough this time and decided to go home, fully satisfied.Hope to come back soon.Price performance is very good. You won't be dissapointed.

This does not happen very often. A hidden gem. Just outside the city in an old fortress the restaurant is a little hard to find. The interior is great. There are no superlatives enough. The food is exceptional good. It is a very young team and young owners and they do a fantastic job! The menu was very well balanced. We had a 4 course menu. In our group were vega's too and they were superbe served. The wines are very good. The preparation of the food, the finishing/garnishing of the plates, the tableware, glasses etc. everything is well thought of and really star worthy. The Michelin star is just around the corner!

We are regulars. I like that the menu changes more often than with regular restaurants. The portion are smaller, but that just means you can taste more. Many wines by the glass and always something special available as well. I always enjoy this place. However my husband doesn't like the size of the portions, but likes the flavours of the food. he prefers the portion to be a little bit bigger.

have Enjoyed a great evening with the love of my life. The staff is extremely friendly and this place is unique. The 6 course menu Michelin Star level!Although the start was slowly and delayed caused by some big groups arriving late we had a great culinary experience. One tip; do something for your wardrobes, coats are hanging on floor in Toilet area

We had a wonderful dining experience in this authentic Dutch restaurant in the pretty little town of Vianen about 10km from Utrecht. It's a converted old house with a lovely dining area and the freshest linen napkins I've seen! The shellfish starter was a dream and I had the mixed grill, my partner the fish of the day, both cooked to perfection. Generous, but not overly filling, portions prevented us from having the sweet. All washed down with perfect house red and delicious coffee. Served by the friendliest of staff, with about 30 covers capacity, this is a must if you want to get off the tourist track..and all for 40Eu each. There's B & B and afternoon tea too and would love to try both. Thank you Vianen!

Very poor experience. Restaurant staff has little eye for their guests. The shrimp cocktail has spend many hours in the fridge before it was served. Cold as heck and no taste at all. The hamburger was salty beyond anything I have had before. The dressing of the burger seems to come from the standard prefab cuisine as well. Very disappointing experience.

I stayed here for one night on a business trip and ate in the hotel restaurant.I had schnitzel with a cheese sauce. It was pretty good and a very big portion.... Accompanied by wedges, fries, cabbage and a side salad.nearly too much food! This cost Euro 17.50 which is very good value for a hotel. There were plenty of other choices at similar price and a more expensive steak menu. Service was efficient and friendly. This is not really a restaurant you would travel to due to the location of the hotel but if you are staying here you will get a very nice meal without having to travel anywhere.
On the middle of the Berlijnplein you can find Venster. Here we try to play with food in a way that'll make you happy and our chefs happy. With a daily changing menu we can create the dishes that we feel like with the products that we get from local farme
We visited Venster for a business lunch and workshop. The outside of Venster looks a lot like a temporary log cabin. It looks very small, but isn't. There was even a separate room for the workshop with large screen and flipover. Lunch was very nice: sandwiches with fresh salad toppings, excellent grilled ham, fresh fruit and cold drinks. Looking forward to return for more.

For an fix price of 14.50 euro you can eat here an 3 course meal. The quality is amazing for this price. Don't get me wrong I had beter, but not for 14.50. The portions are on the small size but you can order an extra appetiser for 4 euro extra. The place is very busy and the tables are close packed. The staff is young but friendly and doing there best. Nice place if you have an small budget.
