Reviews on International food in Gothenburg, West Coast, Sweden. Celebrate the wonders of the land and sea in Gothenburg, Sweden’s second-largest city and home to Liseberg amusement park, the country’s #1 tourist attraction.
Visiting Gothenburg Archipelago is a must, as is sampling everything from modern gastronomy to ‘fika’ to the fresh-caught wonders at Feskekörka (Fish Church). Be sure to take in the Gothenburg Museum of Art, stunning contemporary art at Röda Sten Art Centre, and – if you visit in August – the incredible Way Out West music festival.

Seasonal contemporary cuisine with mile-high views in all directions from the top floor of Gothia Towers, a wide selection of wines and popular cocktails in the sky bar. Try our famous Kings Size Shrimps sandwich.
Very good food and drinks, excellent service and operation, glorious views over Gothenburg, all in all a very nice place. Not cheap, and not necessarily even great value for money, but very good nevertheless. Good for business occasions, friends & family, a 'special occasion', etc.

Fine dining restaurant, impressive wine cellar. Established 1985. One star in Guide Michelin since 1991. Seasonal ingredients used in creative cooking
Five old friends reunited for a night, and the atmosphere could not have been better . Starting off with champagne and oysters in the Winebar before moving into the restaurant to enjoy three appetizers and an 8-course tasting menu. This was my first visit at a Michelin Star restaurant, but I have tried several tasting menus at other high class restaurants around the World before. Sometimes it seems that technical craftsmanship be the focus and the flavors come second, but in this case the (advanced) craftmanship was exceeded by the flavors - in some cases so delicious you would not want to swallow. We added a selection of cheeses to the tasting menu, fantastic choise by the cheese waiter. The large wine package was customized according to our host's wishes. The service was highly appreciated, relaxed but correct, knowledgeable and attentive but not disturbing. I'm looking forward to more exciting experiences at this restaurant.

Le Pain Français Brasserie draws its inspiration from the classic French Champs-Elysées restaurant Le Fouquet´s, with a splash of modern New York. The interior is acclaimed and in 2015 competed for the title Europe's best designed restaurant. The brasseri
A good sized restaurant in the heart of the shopping district, it has a decent amount of outside seating as well as inside. Internally itâs quite elegant in style, although rather jazzy in places as well such as the bar counter illuminated with strips of pink neon. The waiter looked a little odd with his tattoos, piercings and partially shaved head, but he was friendly enough and spoke good English. The menu was quite traditional French, and I opted for that 70âs classic, Duck a lâOrange. This was served with a very pureed vegetable of some description, I think it perhaps had something of a suede taste, and a salad which was perhaps a rather odd accompaniment. Overall it was pretty good, a decent hunk of meat, not fatty as can often be the case with duck and a very pleasant glaze, although the orange flavour was not as prominent as I would have liked. Across the table, a Beef Bourguignon was also well received, being served with a dark, rich sauce although the meat could have been a little more tender. Two deserts had sold out from the list of four of five, which was a shame as I would have fancied trying the Millefeuille au Chocolat, so in the event we skipped this. A glass of Italian white wine was very good, certainly one of the best we have had since arriving, although it was also very expensive. Overall, this was decent enough without being anything outstanding. Iâd happily return if in the area again, but equally wouldnât make a special point of doing so.

Have been here ~15 times. Always a great welcoming from the staff with Maria as the Maitre d` in front. Great meat selection with good local alternatives. Soft ambiance just a short skip from the Avenue. Good and intiated wine selection. Excellent, initiated and friendly staff. Great for a tête-a-tête, business meeting or just for a great meal with friends and family.

We went here two nights in a row because the food, drinks and service were so good! Really friendly and relaxed atmosphere, staff all spoke English so very helpful for two people travelling. Excellent variety of food and drinks, which were welcomed after a busy day exploring. Would definitely recommend!

The food was exceptionally good. Oysters were very good and beef was extremely good. Wine list was also pretty nice with a good selection. The personnel was very nice and helpfull. For a higher end dinner with reasonable prices this restaurant gets five stars from me. Book table in advance as this place is very popular and full in most nights.

We arrived 15 minutes ahead of our reservation and was offered a table to the left of the entrance. The menu came after some waiting but was hardly readable based on bad printing. The winelist was on an IPad, but was really disappointing for a restaurant previously known for good wines. We vere served warm water after long waiting, and the neighbor table was so noisy that we could not hear each other. We asked for a new table but got a flat no. They had options...The food was a great disappointment and we had to return one of three dishes. The waiting for service was so bad that we just gave up - no passion from the employees. Based on previous visits and extremely good reviews - this was the actually the worst restaurant we visited in Gothenborg. Huge number of better restaurants now in this very nice gourmet city...Hej Ståle,We are very sad to hear that you hade such terrible visit. We always strive our best for to give our guest a nice visit. We were fully booked this Saturday and there for we didn't have any tables for you to change to. For the wine list please inform us what you find lacking, we have nearly 400 different wines on our list. But was it any certain area you found lacking? As for the food we offered to change it for a new one or that you both could change for one of our other dishes. But you declined.Att the end of the evening we even gave a discount on the bill.We will of course think of how we can improve for the future.Kind RegardsDaniel Gremlin
