So you want to taste some Japanese food, some home style meals without all the hype, some traditional meals like most families cook at home. And, you want to do so in a comfortable setting without feeling intimidated (that's your own perception). You want to try different Japanese foods without breaking the bank? Well then, try Fussa Shokudo for a cafeteria style place that serves traditional Japanese cooking, kind of like home cooked meals. No, it's not fancy. No, it's not fast food. No, it's not expensive, or cheap. It's a nice, comfortable place to eat, served by very friendly and hospitable hosts, with delicious food items. My wife and I just ate dinner here, had grilled mackerel (they also have grilled salmon and other fish) with rice and an assortment of vegetables (6 different kinds), beer, with a piece of fried fish and a fried potato/meat cake (tasty!) It cost us 2,280 yen!!! That's it. It comes with water and hot tea if you like. The place is very clean, plenty of room, and clean rest rooms! They also serve Udon and rice bowl style dishes. You select how you want it and they cook it for you. You can the types of veggie's or meats you want.We really enjoyed our meal, the setting and the staff's ability to make us feel welcomed!If you go, please show your hosts your friendliness too! :)

The entrees are small but good with many options available from which to choose. The highlight of the meal is the bottomless bread basket that circulates throughout the meal with different choices each go around. Their bread is soft and fresh right out of the oven. The wait staff is friendly and attentive. Often times, there is soft piano music playing in the background which makes for a lovely ambience. I highly recommend this establishment.
