I talked to the owner at the Tijuana Beer Festival on 7-19-13 and the brewery has moved due losing the lease on the building so the information in my previous review is now outdated.Specifically it is now quite a long walk to the fish taco stand mentioned in the previous review. The owner says that they are now in a converted 100 year or so old mansion with a beer garden about 7-8 blocks up on the street which Hussong's and Papas & Beer are located on.. At the TJ beer festival all the the beers I tried were great. Amont the most memorable to me were the the Red Agave IPA, the Dos Pablos, IPA, and a dark beer with maple flavor (I almost sure it was it was a smoked maple porter but due to variety of beers at the festival and my not taking written notes I can't say for sure). Next time I am in Ensenada I plan to the new location an see the beer garden and possibly post an update! I wonder if they still have a children's play area?

My wife and I have the privilege of eating here often. It's a family-run enterprise serving up a combination of classic Mexican breakfast items and very imaginative creations.The fresh juices are great, but the Green Juice is a must. The tortillas are hot and fresh. Everything is far above par!The view of the ocean is incredible and the setting is serene.

Went to Shalom on a Saturday around 10 AM. The place is usually packed. I've passed near Shalom many times and saw the parking lot full, and this time it wasn't different. Nevertheless, i was able to park on the street without issues. The building's main dining room (which has a lot of windows, so it has nice natural lighting during daylight hours, and is a simple yet elegant white room with many wood details) is ample, so even with the parking lot full, we were able to get a table as we went in, no waiting list needed. Customer attention is exceptional. The waiters were great! Since we decided to go with the buffet breakfast (beverages are included in the regular buffet price, by the way), it was self-service on the food, but not on the drinks, and the waiters made sure we always had a full glass (i had orange juice, it was ok. Also tried the milk chocolate, it was good!) and fresh made corn tortillas. Food is varied (although not as varied as in regular American buffets) and it was nice and tasty, although it isn't labeled (so you might want to ask what's on the buffet at the moment, especially if you have special alimentary needs). I had some chilaquiles (which i recommend) and scrambled eggs with refried beans in round one, and some "bistec ranchero" on round two. Also, they had some mole-filled biscuits, which were delightful! The dessert bar was pretty looking but almost all desserts had raisins (which i dislike). Pricing is right, maybe a little on the high side (for the regular pricing of breakfast in Ensenada) but it is a buffet, so one expects to pay a little more.It was a nice experience, which i would recommend especially for buffet-chasers and people that appreciate great customer service.We are glad that you enjoyed our restaurant, we strive to always provide the best services to each of our customers.We wait for you at the moment you like, have a nice day and thank you very much.

A fun place to stop for a casual meal that offers great value and great flavor. You won't find anything unusual or unique (when compared to some of the other culinary masterpieces) but the bistec arranchera is superb. Be sure to order their chips and guacamole dish made table side. A stroll around the gardens is a must as well. You will be pleased with the meal and service.

3 for breakfast on Saturday, we did not know that it was buffet only. It is defiantly cafeteria style environment, very crowded and noisy. It was good enough, the pancakes and omelets were good, service very slow to get coffee, water and plates removed. We were surprised when our bill was $56us, pretty high for the area, we were with a local and he could not believe it was that pricey either. Will not go again for that price point and cafeteria style environment.

This is probably the only restaurant serving this style food in Ensenada, and if youâre a vegetarian it might be the only place to get a good meal in the city. The food was great, fresh made, tasty garnishes, and the price was more than fair. Two thumbs up!

We planned on coming over here for dinner because we saw this place driving by the day before and we thought it was pretty.The worst mistake ever!!! We were standing by the podium looking at the menu on the sidewalk wondering if is a self seating restaurant or you have to wait for a hostess.No one ever came out and ask, the restaurant wasn't even busy. We decided to grab a sit inside since there was a lady at the entrance and servers around but nobody acknowledge us. It's like the 5 of us were invisible. We grabbed a table and waited and that's literally it, no menus, no drinks offered no one ever came to the table we even tried to make eye contact with the 3 people that we saw working there and after 20 minutes we decided to leave, we told the lady begind the counter what happened but she just didn't care, no apologise no nothing.Hi Pablo, we are really sorry for your experience. What day and time did you visit us?

Our go to spot when ever we are in town ! Old school ambiance and staffing results in a classic dining experience. Weâve had several dinners with excellent service, food and prices.More often than not, we stop for breakfast- always find the place busy and jumping. 99% of their customer base is Local! Always a good sign!
