Our family really enjoyed the delicious, non-alcoholic drinks and the fresh, flavorful food served at La Caribena. The incorporation of coconut milk, delicious seafood, and some Caribbean spice was a nice change of pace during our travels. Frank and Geovani were very friendly and provided great service. Despite being near the highway, this was a family-friendly dining experience that allowed us to relax to reggae music and refuel after a day of adventure.Thank for visiting us.

We traveled in a group of 6 and rented a home in El Castillo for 3 days. Essence was a 10 minute walk away. This is a vegetarian restaurant with the dinner menu different every night. They use vegetables from their own farm. We came for lunch and had delicious pasta, sandwiches, salads and crepes. The food was so good, we had to come back for dinner. That night, we were served Peruvian food. Everything here is perfect: you can see the chef cooking, the staff is so friendly (as is everyone else in El Castillo), the portions/price are perfect. I highly recommend making it in as you will not be dissapointed!

My fiancé and I visited Balazo and LOVED the fresh seafood and drinks! The fish is so fresh and we had a great time meeting new people. They have karaoke that many enjoyed and it was great entertainment for us!!! They are the only place that stays open after 10 pm in El Castillo. Give them a try if you are in the area!

Delicious food. Ate both lunch and dinner here. Beautiful views! The staff were accommodating and the mojitos were incredible! They even have a travel section to plan your activities! Dear Guest. We ate twice at Phoenix during our week in El Castillo. Juan and Luisa became fast friends -- they are wonderfully welcoming and warm -- and happily accommodated our various allergens and special requests. The patio at sunset is breathtaking. Don't miss Phoenix if you're in the Arenal area!
