The most notable point is the attentiveness of the staff. Both of the waitresses who served us were mannerly, polite and excellent at their job. The food was fab we both cleaned our plates. I visited here today, ordered poached eggs, bacon , beans and mushrooms, the mushrooms were beyond greasy, a staff member confirmed they were deep fried ! Absolutely revolting, who wants to eat mushrooms saturated in cooking oil ! What happened to saute!!! , clearly the lazy way suits the chef !

I have been to the market house a few times and i have to say each time has been excellent. Their rib starter and their chicken starter are lovely and both a good size for starters. The added touctches of the mini loaf and mini soup taster is a ver nice toutch. Their steaks are something else so good and of good quality. Their garlic potatoes ate really nice. The chips are the only thing that werent to my taste. They were a bit big and undercooked. I have also samples lorlts of their desserts and they are amazing. The decor of this restaurant is no nice since they got it decorated and has a very nice atsmosphere . Well worth a visit. I just wish that the quality of food in this restaurant was served in their function room of the hotel which isnt comparable at all.

Took the Mrs and Parents for a meal here over Christmas. After 5 weeks at home and eating out most nights, this was easily one if not the best meal of the trip.Between us all we had, hake, salmon, chowder, goat cheese salad.etc Salmon tasted amazing, very wild tasting.Even the hake was excellent which Iâve never had much luck with in the past, always a bland tasting fish.Looking forward to the summer visit now, so can sit outside n enjoy the surroundings.Pretty good Guinness too.Certain non Irish members of staff could use a little Donegal friendliness
