This tapas bar (entirely English) has replaced the Arc en Ciel and is a major disappointment. We have visited 3 times this season; once for food. The meal was very average - an almost inedible steak. Twice we have been in for drinks and have walked out because of lack of service. I'm sorry to hear you didn't have a satisfying meal and other visits. Did you identify the issue of the steak with one of the staff? I can tell you we get our steaks from the local butcher in le Praz, it is a good quality Black Angus steak. We have not had any complaints about the steak before, which is surprising you found it "almost inedible". It could have been not as tender as other cuts perhaps, so I can only apologise for that. With regards to us being entirely English that is in fact not true. Our general manager is from Galicia (Spain) and his wife is the head chef who has been cooking Spanish food for many years. We also have French staff and the English staff we have as well speak varying levels of French. With your visit you may have noticed our drinks we produce are not as simple as pouring a bog standard beer. Our drinks, especially cocktails, do take that little longer to make. We take pride in what we deliver. I wonder if this was the case when you came in for a drink. We do not want our customers to feel unsatisfied so I again will apologise you found you experienced a lack of service. I hope you do come back and visit and we can show you how you should be treated.Kind regards.

Fab buzzy atmosphere, good service and above all the the food is consistently very good. Not the most expensive in town but worth putting on the list. Martin the Maitre De always got us a table, even though we didn't book, but we had a laugh and joke with him and he was fun.

I drank here basically everyday for a week while staying at the hotel. Sometimes outside on the lovely patio, sometimes inside in the living room style lounge, sometimes at the bar. The bartenders were frankly great. They know their craft and are willing to try new things if you ask for them. They also make consistently generous pours. Some people have criticized the service and I get it. Attention to the table was consistently slow. But all service was genuinely friendly and with a smile and the desire to please was always evident. And let’s be realistic, folks, ski resorts hire young seasonal help - so they aren’t going to be 5 star trained maitre d’s. I had no complaints at all.
