It is known for its production of Nilgiri tea. Coonoor is located at an altitude of 1,850 m (6,070 ft) above sea level, and is the second largest hill station in the Nilgiri hills after Ooty. It is an ideal base for a number of trekking expeditions leading into the Nilgiris. The nearest airport is Coimbatore International Airport about 79 km from Coonoor town. As of 2011, the town had a population of 45,494. Coonoor is also home to the Pasteur Institute of India, which is responsible for producing Anti-rabies Vaccine and DPT group of Vaccines for the Expanded Program of Immunization of Government of India.

During my stay at Ooty I dined here on a number of occasions.This is a classy place to dine in.The service is prompt and efficient,the staff are friendly and professional and the food is excellent.I had the chicken Tikka Masala-the best I had during my three month journey through India...I was also here for AfternoonTea...and the tea brack was just perfect....great place to be...10 out of 10.

Didnât stay here, we six friends after a train ride had lunch here. Delicious food with good hospitality. I liked this heritage property with beautiful lawns with flower beds. The food was as amazing as the beauty of Ooty with the chef Biswajit taking personal interest by overseeing the entire proceedings in the dining area and interacting with guests. The pastry chef Arafat gave us one of the sweetest and tempting desserts with a few sugar free desserts also on request. Would love to visit again only to enjoy the meals which remain in our memory. We were a group of 15 visited this cozy place of great ambience and Mountain View and instantly loved this place. The drinks menu, food menu were all refreshingly new and delicious. Be it pastas, meat dishes, burgers or the wraps, were all just amazing. The service has been professional and they have got nice pool table and a smoking area. Getting there is also easy but pls watch out the traffic as the roads are bit narrow. Strongly recommend.

One of the first things that one notices about this resort is its curtious and humble staff ( from the front desk manager to the old man who would ward off monkeys using his catapult, while we enjoy the facilities)and spic and span surroundings even though one is right in the middle of a jungle. extremely clean and well mantained cottages.All the meals are an elaborate affair with a wide variety to choose from. My kid freaked out at the adventure zone and so did my husband. Both of them had a fab time. My appreciation also goes out to the lady who used to sit with the kids all afternoon helping them to create something like a golden tree or a paper bag.A special mention for Dinesh who conducts games in the evenings for kids as well as adults and also takes all the necessary precautions when the kids are indulging in all the adventure activities.
