Things to do in Calama
They have some international fastfood dishes like burgers, burritos and specially âchorrillanaâ, chilean heavy dish with frites, meat and some another stuff. Good for sharing.
So what do you do when you arrive at El Loa Airport four hrs before your flight? Go to the nearest cafe and use their wifi, of course! I checked and there was a strong signal from Cafe Pacific at El Loa Airport, Calama, Chile, so we decided we'd endure the food for the convenience of being able to use their wifi. #1 - don't assume wifi is free or available for you to use just because there is a strong signal or because you are a customer. In retrospect, it was our error to assume. There was no sign indicating free wifi.#2 - they didn't have either item we ordered from the menu (iced chocolate or beef fillet). So we "settled" for a hamburger and hot chocolate. That hamburger could safely have been eaten by a vegetarian because I am certain there was nothing that ever lived in the patty. The hot chocolate was boiling hot, milky and sickeningly sweet. And the clincher? There was no wifi to be had (they weren't sharing). They sent us down to Information for the airport's password, but their network was nowhere to be found. So much for the plan to use Cafe Pacific's Internet! An overpriced 'meal' (if it could be called that), it earned our award for the worst airport fare ... ever!

The food was nice but the services awful. Extremely long waiting periods, food not delivered as one, check wrong and then tip wrong.Watch out I really think they try to scam you.P.s don't order wine, prices are ridiculous.
I was on business trip to Calama, city where you arrive when you go to San Pedro de Atacama. I was looking for a place to dinner and I was told by a colegue this was a realy nice place to eat with a bar on the second floor. I went and ordered chicken stuffed with goat cheese and herbs with sided steamed vegetables and a pisco sour (chilean very common drink), my colegues ordered a Steak and a ceviche. I was sorprised with the presentation of the food and the teaste was amazing the pisco sour although wasn´t good at all. Service need to be more friendly however I find out that in Calama this is very regular. I will go for either dinner or luch again whatsoever. It is very rustic so if you want nice cushioned seat or fancy arrangements this is not your place.
When we sat down we asked for the wine list, then quickly ordered a bottle of Malbec. The bottle arrived and was uncorked just as we started our desert. The food - a buffet - was over cooked and pretty bad. To make matters worse, it's the first time in 20 years that I've gotten sick in Chile.

We received a welcome drink upon check-in. Decided to have it with our meal on 2nd night. It was given to another couple (lucky them). They brought us our drink, then completely ignored us. My husband had to ask for bread after several minutes . The meal was over cooked but tasted good. We are English speaking but know some Spanish so are able to get by. Fortunately for them I don't know enough Spanish to complain because I would have told them how I felt. A small tip was given to show that the service was poor. We will not be back to eat here on our last night.

We have been here as we found this restaurant on top of Trip Advisors list. The ambience is very nice as well as the prices - therefore we expected some great dinner. Unfortunately the request for one vegetarian meal could not be fulfilled at all so that we went for seafood. Both meals have been eatable but nothing more. The probably self made bread before has been of much better quality. Desert (chocolate cake) would have been great without that much crumbles. The bar showed a great range of fine bottles which we did not go for. Maybe the bartender is better than the chef. In the end we paid much for leaving an empty restaurant disappointed.
