The capital of Italy’s northernmost region of South Tyrol, Bolzano (Bozen in German) has only been Italian since World War I, and its character remains distinctly Germanic. At the center of the town, Piazza Walther is named for a 13th-century German minstrel. The town’s most famous resident, Ötzi the Iceman, dates from about 3300 BC and now rests at the South Tyrol Museum of Archaeology. The striking new building for Museion, the city’s modern and contemporary art museum, opened in 2008.

First English language review â yaay!I searched for Banco11 in Bolzano but itâs listed under âSouth Tyrol Provinceâ - which is a pretty big place! Despite Banco11 being located in the centre of Bolzano, amongst the food stalls of the Obstmarkt, (or Piazza Erbe). On the day of our visit, my wife and I were looking for a place to grab some lunch, appetites whetted by the food stalls of the market. We spotted quite a relaxed crowd, lurking behind some âcamouflageâ shrubberies and as we were watching, a waitress brought out the most fantastic looking board of cheeses, salami and other meats. Thatâs it â we were in.We ordered the same mixed platter and asked for the wine list. The waitress smiled and told me, âYouâre looking at the wine listâ â pointing at herself. She recommended a superb local gewürztraminer, which was also available by the glass. The bill, for the superb food, bottle of wine and a bottle of mineral water was a bargain at â¬26. I canât recommend the place highly enough.

Chef's specials change weekly. It's not the same old German/Austrian/Italian fare, but a little fusion of all. Definitely served with old world charm. In season, reservations may be a good idea, and if you are staying at the hotel, be sure to let them know that you'd like a table for dinner.

A small place, even more an Apéro-Bar, but they have a small menu-card with few, but delicious meals. The wine was very good, as well the dessert. We had some Apero one day before and the small finger-food was amazing. Hidden delicious place !!!

I ordered the second most expensive dish on the menu which was supposed to come with salad and potatoes. It came with three lettuce leaves. When I politely questioned the manager about the bill, he ran off and very childishly came back and threw down a dish of potatoes in front of me! If that is the way he treats his customers, he needs to take some lessons in customer service.

In Viaggio is food culture, it is love for good food; An innocent hymn, a ceaseless movement detached from its context, representing and defending it at the same time. In Viaggio is not the destination,it is all that you take with you when you are off aga
I have had the fortune of dining in some of the finest restaurants around the world. This included the French Laundry in Yountville, Le Bernadin in New York City, The Steirereck in Vienna, and many more. Tonight's meal was on par with any of them. Claudio Melis cuisine is innovative, yet accessible, with perfectly sized portions and the eye appeal that only true artists can provide. Service was impeccable and warm, the wine paired to absolute perfection. I was planning on trying another restaurant in Bolzano tomorrow night, but I have changed my mind. I can't wait to do it again at In Viaggio.Erich Steinbock, Former Vice President, Food and Beverage, The Ritz-Carlton Hotel CompanyDear Mr Steinbock,Thank you very much to take the time to write a review about In Viaggio RistoranteOur guests feed-back is very important to us!We are glad you enjoyed your culinary trip, the service, the wines and the whole Restaurant experience, we can´t wait to have you again as a guest at our tablesIn the meanwhile we wish you all the bestKind RegardsMonica WieserIn Viaggio-Claudio Melis Ristorante

My husband and I had a delightful meal outside on the patio. We started with Salami, cheese and bread. Delicious entrees included Salmon with Stir fried vegetables (yum), and Beef Ravioli. Menu has quite a variety of choices. Excellent wine accompanied our meal. A pleasant place to sit, relax with good food and wine, and people watch! Pleasant and attentive wait staff.

Great experience.Food is just excellent, wine list is way beyond your imagination.Price is incredibly fair.I donât see how someone can complain because doesnât receive chips at 20:30 when you suppose to have dinner.Unfortunately we are surrounded by customers that should go to Macdonald and leave gastronomy to someone else. When you work in the business you can spot idiot customers from a review. If you want to have a great experience in Bolzano and really enjoy your time with an extensive and extraordinary wine list, this is definitely the place to be.The staff is super professional, knowledgeable, very kind and all of them knows what to do.If you miss this restaurant you really miss something.Thank you very much for the amazing dinner.

On 5 floors, the long-standing Thaler shop unites the exclusive world of beauty, cosmetics, living culture, and upscale gastronomy. On the top floor, there is the in-house restaurant café, which is open all day. Lunch is served from 12:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m
A beautiful new setting, both the internal spaces and the terrace overlooking the skyline, welcomes the guests. The architect did a perfect job. The management and the people understand how to provide a good service, adapting their approach to each table. The menu is a short one, as I expect in a quality restaurant, and mostly based on local products. Price to quality is competitive. Booking is mandatory.Dear Happy Guest!Thank you for giving us a perfect rating and for recommending our bistro arôme to other travelers and foodlovers.I am very pleased to read that our staff made your lunch or dinner (?) pleasant.Looking forward to seeing you again soon. Call us if there is anything we can help you with! Our best wishes for a Happy and Peaceful New Year,Flora & Thaler arôme team
