We were staying in the Big Sky resort area and looking for a good dinner without advanced reservations. This was perfect. We showed up at 630 and it wasnât too crowded. Limited menu but nice selections including pistachio encrusted trout and a vegan Kafka that was delicious. The Cocktail menu was enticing with several tempting choices. They had a kids menu with burgers, chicken and salmon. We sat outside and watched the last of the zipliners go by. It began to drizzle and we opened up a black umbrella and it was just perfect. This restaurant is in the summit hotel and wishing we had stayed there. Looked amazing.

Fresh, local ingredients, seasonal menus, a casual atmosphere, and gourmet flavors - this is the list of ingredients that makes By Word of Mouth (By WOM for those in the know!) a cherished local favorite in Big Sky, Montana. Your dining experience will be
Small restaurant with excellent food, cheerful and friendly service. This would be one of my favorites if the ambiance and furnishings were more fine dining. The green salad is fresh with the perfect amount of flavorful vinaigrette, generous portion of warm edamame in pods, basil shrimp risotto is divine, trout good, chocolate lava cake superb. No espresso. Interesting cocktails, most notably one with basil, no Champagne by the glass; food/beverage menu is on the small side.

The ambiance and the service were excellent. We had elk and bison, both were very good. It was not cheap, but not ridiculously over-priced either. Beer and wine list was very impressive. I would eat here again.Thank you for taking the time to review Peaks Restaurant and give us a 4 star rating! Your feedback is greatly appreciated, and very important to us. We hope to see you back again soon.
