Smaller and more intimate than popular resort areas such as San Ignacio and Belize City, the modest capital of Belmopan is nonetheless a vibrant city surrounded by stunning scenery and wildlife. Next to the bustling Market Square, Independence Plaza is home to the prime minister's offices, various pedestrian pathways and the National Assembly Building, designed to resemble a Mayan temple. Outside the city lay the spectacular Guancaste Park as well as the astonishing Hummingbird Highway.

When it comes to fine food, Sunday nights in Belmopan can be a challenge. Our group of four ventured into this recently opened restaurant. The tables are covered picnic tables so creature comforts are not the best. Service, although provided by a young trainee, was prompt and polite. Selections are simple and sound appealing and as they turned out are filling but nothing to get excited about. Prices were also a bit on the high side. Will we try here again? Probably will just to see if there is any improvement â as a newish establishment it is worth trying again.

The restaurant doesnât look like much from the outside but the food is FANTACTIC!!!! When I was here 9 years ago we drove 50 miles each way just to have lunch here. We did that 5 times over a one week period. So when I came back to Belize this last visit I made sure to have lunch here again and it was as good as I had remembered. We love the fried chicken, & chicken chow mein combo. It sounds like an odd pairing but they are both so good youâll want to come back again and again. As you are driving into Belmopan on the Western Highway it will be on the right hand side of the road after the big bend in the road coming into town. Around lunch time the restaurant can fill up and people are happy to share empty chairs at their table.

I usually order the specials at Good View but I decided to order the Buffalo Wings and they were really yummy! Good View has affordable food that is very tasty. I definitely recommend having lunch there if your in Belmopan.
