The population was 5,628 at the 2010 census. It is separated from the mainland by Biscayne Bay, over which the land masses are connected via the Broad Causeway. On the mainland side, BHI is bordered by the city of North Miami, while to the east it borders the villages of Bal Harbour and Surfside. To the south lies the exclusive village of Indian Creek. BHI is about 20 minutes' driving distance away from Miami International Airport, and it is situated between the larger cities of Aventura and Miami Beach.

Our friends who live at 5600 Collins invited us to join them at LâEdito. What a pleasant surprise! Located along the inter coastal offering great views and sunsets, we thoroughly enjoyed dining here. We were greeted warmly by the owners and seated at a comfortable table where we proceeded to order a couple of bottles of Spanish white wine, some apps which included escargot, mussels Provençal and country pate ! Off to a great start, two of us had the vole au vent, another the duck breast and the Sebastien salad with smoked salmon. The owner kept things moving along. She is upbeat and pleasant and service was spot on even though the restaurant was also hosting a birthday celebration the evening we dined. We shared the coconut and white chocolate soufflé and tarte tartin for dessert which finished our evening. We highly recommend dining here not only for the quality of the food and service but the reasonable and fair pricing and look forward to another visit. Unfortunately it will not be until next winter as we head back to NYC tomorrow.

This is a very charming,European style bistro with a friendly vibe and very well prepared food. We very much enjoyed the burrata appetizer, grilled shrimp, snapper and dulce de leche flan. Highly recommended.

I have been so disappointed so far in the recommended restaurants that I went to in Miami and this definitely didnât disappoint in fact was one of the best restaurants Iâve eaten in in a very long time the atmosphere the food the service,the atmosphere absolutely fantastic.I sat at the bar as the huge restaurant was full ,even the outdoor seating.I asked the bartender which ceviche he recommended and he said the mixed seafoodThe portion and flavors were to die for ,it was perfectly seasoned the right amount of lime and flavor and everything was super tender ,not rubbery as can happen with ceviche I could finish the huge portion as I wanted to try somewhere else ,he recommended the special which was tastaronnes with avocado cream and diced tuna just perfect Ended with a dessert he recommended,which was great just a little to sweetI forgot the delicious tequila passion fruit cocktail he prepared for me I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting south beach

We reserved to eat and celebrate at this restaurant for New Year's eve. We paid the tickets and couldn't make it because of a horrible personal issue. We contacted the administration in advance to cancel. They understood our issue and agreed by email to refund us which we appreciated greatly. It is now July and we still have not received any refund. We gave our credit card and private information through email and never got any reply afterwards. Where did our info go? Since then, they never returned our calls, emails, messages or anything else. They even cancelled their email address so that our emails wouldn't go through. This is the absolute worst service I have ever received. It's very suprising it came from such a well-known institution: The Ritz. We sent douzains of correspondences and they dont even bother to reply to any. NEVER EVER buy tickets to go to their event, they are scam artists and frauds. If anybody from the management team reads this, please kindly contact us back so we can finally settle this issue.

Nicki's Sweet Confections is a relatively new place in Bay Harbor Islands. As our granddaughter has a nut allergy and they have a sign that says no tree nuts used, we stopped in to give it a try. We had their macaroons - fantastic ! Their single serving apple pie - another winner. And their cheese role - wow ( we did carry out). We have lived and traveled the world and this bakery easily competes with this best. It isn't a large place and the selection is limited but they excel at what they do make.
