A hidden gem in the heart of leafy Sunningdale, The Tablespoon offers a relaxed atmosphere with the restaurant & secret garden buzzing from early till late. With contemporary twists on traditional British dining, and fusion dishes, we serve an eclectic ra
The Tablespoon offers a truly international mix of Western and Eastern dishes, from Burgers, cornfed chicken, and fish & chips to samosas, curries, and teriyaki glazed sesame tuna. However, the problem with such a wide range of cuisines is that itâs almost impossible to pay justice to all their individualities. The Tablespoon is no exception. For example, the chilli paneer, which I was assured to be very spicy, turned out to be completely devoid of chilli. It tasted good in a soulfoody way, more like a ratatouille with paneer, only without the mediterranean herbs. If itâs meant to be that way it should better be named bellpepper paneer. After I mentioned that to the waitress, I got kind of overcompensated by tons of chilli in my dumbay ki nihari, almost as if the cook had thought ok, now Iâm gonna show him. On the other hand, essential ingredients were missing, like fresh coriander or cumin. The tender lamb shank was not cut into morsels but served whole in deep a bowl of thinnish liquid, which made I wonder how it was meant to be eaten - as gravy it was way too much for the rice that came with it, and for a stew or a soup it was too hot and, sorry, too nondescript. The sesame tuna was good, maybe a bit too salty, while some of that salt could have been put to good use in the rather watery potato mash that came with the cornfed chicken. When I settled the bill they kindly offered to drop the paneer, but that wouldnât have been fair as I had more or less finished it. I should also mention here that service in general was very friendly and very fast.If fusion was the concept behind this way of cooking one should keep in mind that this means combining the idiosyncracies of different cuisines, very often yielding surprising and exciting results. My impression was that too much of Asia got lost on the way to Sunningdale, in order to accommodate the Western palate.Thank you for your very detailed and constructive feedback. It is always valuable for us to hear how we can perhaps improve dishes, despite it being after the dining event. Sadly, I can't agree that Asia got lost on the way to Sunningdale as we (the owners) are Asian, and have built the fusion menu on a Kenyan-Indo-Fijian heritage! However, perhaps we are catering to accommodate a certain Western palate. Our Fusion Kitchen comes highly reviewed, but it can only get better with close constructive feedback, so thank you for taking the time to do so. I hope that you do decide to return to us where we will do our best to improve your experience.

Our place is your space, come by for breakfast, lunch, coffee and everything in between! All travellers welcome!
Went here for my wifeâs 30th birthday for brunch. We were a party of 6 adults and one baby (in her push chair). The staff seemed slightly âannoyedâ we had turned up. There were only about 5/6 other diners there... the staff were rude and slightly aggressive. My wife retuned here smoothly as it was so sour it was undrinkable. We asked our waitress to try it. She did, and agreed, but said we will still have to pay for it. In a nutshell.. overpriced and rude staff. Just go to Ascot grill opposite them. At least they smile!

We chose The Prince Albert for a family meal after 2 days at Legoland having read the excellent reviews on TripAdvisor. This proved to be an excellent decision. We received a warm welcome on arrival and were shown through to the restaurant where Rosie showed us to our table and dealt with us very efficiently throughout. The food and drink was excellent and good value, and we all had a great experience. We will certainly return when we are next in the area.

We visited Stovell's for a wedding anniversary celebration following a recommendation. The whole evening was a joy(!) from being greeted upon arrival, having a drink at the bar, being seated, served and dined. The staff were friendly, knowledgeable and welcoming. Service was exemplary! Both the ambiance and environment were lovely and well suited for a wonderful fine-dining experience!Food wise, we ordered a selection of starters (crab and octopus to name but two) from the a la carte menu and were not disappointed. For mains, we opted for the beef wellington (comes with a customised twist!) and the lobster - both were very well presented and full of flavour with wonderful texture. We had a thoroughly enjoyable evening/dining experience and would not hesitate in recommending Stovell's to our friends and family. We will definitely be back!
