Reviews on International food in Amersfoort, Utrecht Province, The Netherlands. Monolithic gates still protect Amersfoort, a well-preserved medieval city that remains connected to its history. Built into the foundations of 13th-century defensive walls, the Muurhuizen wall houses are one of the city’s most intriguing features. Art enthusiasts should visit the Mondriaan House (birthplace of abstract artist Piet Mondriaan) and the Armando Museum, a collection of works by the famed Dutch painter.

In the Mariënhof, the monastery of Amersfoort, you will find winebar Zuster Margaux. It is the perfect setting to enjoy a good glass of wine. The well designed and detailled interior can definitly be called extraordinary and classy
we have heard about this place via our local newspaper and by coincidence we where in this city.we where 1 hour before opening as we didn't knew their times but very friendly staff gave us a table in the garden, super nice location in the marienenhof . Everything is average. Not necessarily a bad thing but don't expect to be pleasantly surprised. Plenty of choices and prepared properly. Friendly staff, decent prices. My problem with this restaurant is that it tries to please the average consumer with middle of the road everything, that it just really doesn't appeal to me at all. I even find it offensive, where's the passion where's the signature!?!. Given the so many choices in Amersfoort where price is in the same budget but the dishes and or ambiance so much more inspiring I will happily skip this restaurant and go somewhere where the restaurant has a real opinion on what to serve and food is prepared with passion and love!

Dinner with friends at Sloop was one of our most pleasant dining experiences. Set beside one of the many canals Sloop offers a quite diverse menu of both cold and warm mid-sized dishes for which it is intended that about 3-4 would provide a filling meal.We found that 3 with a couple of side dishes was ample and provided the opportunity to try different combinations ranging from veal, steak, seafood and poultry. Desert options were quite limited but included a cheese plate.Matched wines are suggested by the glass or there is a range of bottled wine to choose from. Service was attentive and helpful and the overall price very reasonable at about 170 euro for four persons including 1-2 glasses of wine each. Strongly recommend.

This is my fav. when visiting Amersfoort. Food is delicious and very well prepared. The menu offers an excellent balance for any preference. Service is swift and friendly. I almost always go for their classic burger as it is delicious. The other meat, vegan and fish dishes are at least as good!So a must visit when you are in the area!

Encouraged by the T/A reviews we booked for a Saturday night dinner, and were totally delighted on every level. The venue is charming and the décor tasteful but not overly formal so males for a relaxed evening. The service faultless from the Owner / host to the waitresses all attend you to make it a perfect experience.Menu choices range from a la carte to a series of set tasting menus with 4 - 8 courses and choices by the chef. We wanted to let the chef surprise us and selected a 4 course menu at 42.50 pp and were totally delighted. From the amuse bouche through every course the dishes reflected Michelin quality skill, flair, innovation, and presentation. Tastes, textures and presentation delight both the eye and the palate. The wine list is varied with selections from France, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Germany, South Africa & New Zealand - priced reasonably for such a high calibre restaurant. We also elected to have the host do the wine paring and her choices were excellent. A first class meal and the best we've had in the Netherlands so far. Could not recommend it highly enough.

'Alberts Eten & Drinken' is a bar / restaurant with its own character. We are in one of the most beautiful and monumental buildings of Amersfoort. The restaurant is the old home from the Alberts family, who lived here for 50 years. You are welcome from 10
Quirky building with a very rich history, it dates back several centuries. You can still see that the walls are a bit curvy, which is very interesting. The food is very good, they combine an interesting fusion of European with South East Asian cuisine. Nice place for a after work drink and food with colleagues or friends

We arrived shortly before the kitchen closed (which is fairly early). The restaurant was very clean and comfortable, and the waitstaff very helpful. I had onion soup which was served very hot, and had a wonderful beefy broth. My husband and I ordered fish cooked different ways; they were both very good and came with a good portion of French Fries and a salad. The prices are very reasonable and the service was excellent.
